Required Documents
Application. Refer to your program's website for the specific application service. You may apply to only ONE degree-seeking program per semester. Your application (and offer of admission) is valid for one year from the term of original application; however, your deferral request must be made before the start of that term.
Application Fee. A nonrefundable $90 application fee (in addition to a centralized application service processing fee) is required to process an application for admission. Waiver of the $90 international application fee is not available.
Official Transcripts and Records. Please view a brief List of Bachelor Degree Equivalencies by Country. If you do not find your country listed and are unsure of your degree equivalency, please contact the Office of Admissions at admissions@tamu.edu. Applicants who do not possess a degree considered to be equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree or higher may be denied admission.
You must submit transcripts from all colleges or universities attended (excluding US community colleges). NOTE: You do not need to submit a transcript from Texas A&M University. Official transcripts (not unofficial transcripts/advising sheets) uploaded via the respective application system will temporarily complete your file for review. If you receive admission, you must submit all required original official transcripts (and diplomas) before you will be allowed to register for classes. The official transcripts will be compared to any unofficial documents used for admission. If discrepancies are identified, your admission may be rescinded.
You are required to submit official transcripts from each post-secondary university or college attended. An official statement of the award of the degree or diploma is required for each degree completed. College work from one institution posted on the transcript of another institution will not be accepted.
Transcripts are considered official if they have an original signature of a school official or an original school seal. Accepted signatures include the Registrar, Principal, Controller of Examinations, or The Ministry of Education. Photocopies or other duplications of a transcript, such as notarized copies, faxed, or scanned documents are not considered official.
If your institution does not issue a transcript in English you must submit the native language transcript with an official English translation. Official translations are prepared by a recognized translation service and include all original seals and/or signatures.
Consolidated transcripts or provisional mark-sheets are not considered official. Please ask the registrar to send individual mark-sheets that list your grades earned in each term. Do not send mark-sheets that include student information other than your own.
For students currently enrolled in the United States, we will accept copies of official transcripts from other countries provided the copies are verified by the United States institution the applicant is currently attending. Faxed, emailed, and/or notarized copies will not be accepted. Evaluations are not accepted as transcripts.
Many universities in the USA can use the electronic format. Electronic transcripts can be processed much faster than paper transcripts. Texas A&M will accept transcripts sent electronically through SPEEDE, eSCRIP-SAFE or National Clearing House.
Students with academic records from China: If you are admitted, you will need to provide transcripts verified by the China Higher Education Student Information and Career Center (CHESICC) and degree certificates verified by the China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center (CDGDC). Verification reports will not be accepted by upload and must be sent directly to Texas A&M University (admissions@tamu.edu) by the respective verification service.
Official Test Scores. Required test scores should be sent directly from the testing agency. Most scores expire after five years.
Use code 6003 for reporting GRE scores for non-engineering programs (Department code not needed).
Use code 4119 for reporting GRE for engineering programs. (Engineering CAS).
Use 7B7K957 for reporting GMAT scores.
Proof of English Proficiency. If your native language is not English, you are required to submit proof of English proficiency to be eligible for review. acquiring alternative verification during the admission process from the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies via a departmental request.
