You will be taught by an internationally recognised team in the area of well-being. Well-being is a key theme within organisational psychology, and this course is ideal for people who want to be at the cutting-edge of psychological research on well-being and want to work with an internationally recognised research team. In addition, you will be able to engage with academics who are experts in consultancy within this area and become aware and develop knowledge of practical aspects and techniques in organisational psychology. Working with leading academics, you’ll discover the most important recent developments in organisational psychology and well-being research. Meanwhile, you’ll build the analytical skills needed to make your own expert contribution to the latest thinking in the field. You will learn how to implement and test the theories you have learnt to make effective evidence-based decisions about managing people at work. You will become expert in the latest techniques that inform in-depth empirical investigation in this field. Once you’ve built a firm foundation during your taught modules, you’ll begin your dissertation. Here you’ll be able to explore a problem or issue in more depth with the guidance of an academic adviser. This opportunity enables you to not only to investigate an issue you think is important, but also to develop the research and analytical skills you’ll need to keep innovating throughout your career. You’ll learn how to do your own independent research, how to approach issues from a rigorous, scientific perspective and how to analyse complex challenges. You’ll also discover how to make decisions based on evidence and how to use literature and research to solve problems –all of which will be essential in your career. Throughout your studies you’ll be encouraged to approach your subject from a global perspective as increasingly there is international interest in the topic of managing people in MNCs. You’ll study with lecturers and researchers who have an international perspective. You’ll benefit from research-led teaching, learning from lecturers, researchers and tutors who are members of Norwich Business School’s highly-respected Employment, Systems and Institutions group (ESI). This ensures you graduate with a solid grasp of the latest theories and techniques in the field and the main challenges surrounding them.
课程设置:
Organisational Research Methods will introduce you to the different methods used in empirical organisational psychology. Managing Careers to Success focuses on professional development. And Developing Effective Organisations will guide your understanding of the key theories and ethics that underpin work psychology and employee engagement.
In your second semester you’ll add further depth and breadth to your studies. In Driving High Performance and Wellbeing you will design innovative HRM interventions. Work Design and Well-being focuses on employees’ well-being and job-fit. Finally, Statistical Skills will coach you in the statistical techniques you’ll need to conduct effective research in organisational psychology
In your third and final semester you’ll complete your dissertation module under the guidance of your academic advisor. This is a fantastic opportunity to conduct an individual piece of research, exploring a question you are passionate about. Your dissertation is also great preparation for PhD study, as well as being a valuable indication of your potential to employers.
