解读：加州系大学要求的A-G课程

在申请加州系的大学时，官网会列出申请者需要满足A-G的课程要求。这个A-G的课程究竟是什么？今天我们来做相关的解读，希望对于同学们高中阶段的选课有一定的帮助和参考。

首先，我们明确下加州体系大家对于申请者GPA的要求。对于加州本州申请者，GPA的最低要求为3.0，对于州外申请者，GPA的最低要求是3.4：

小贴士：

申请加州系统的同学们注意啦，3.4的GPA是最低的要求，也是申请的前提。请务必重视起学校的课内学习并保持一个好的GPA，优秀的校内成绩是申请所有美国大学的敲门砖。

其次，再看下A-G课程具体指的是什么（参考下图）：A是History/Social Science（历史/社会科学），B是English（英语），C是Mathematics（数学），D是Science（科学），E是Language other than English（非英语类），F是Visual & Performing Arts（视觉和表演艺术)，G是College-Preparation Elective（大学预备选修课）。

我们从A到G逐个分析这些课程要求：

A

History/Social Science

（历史/社会科学）

Two years of history, including(完成2年的历史课程，包括):

--one year of world or European history, cultures and geography (may be a single yearlong course or two one-semester courses), and

--one year of U.S. history or one-half year of U.S. history and one-half year of civics or American government.

--一年的世界历史或欧洲历史，文化和地理（可以是一整个全年的课程，或是2个学期的课程）。

--一年的美国历史；或半年的美国历史和半年的公民学或美国政府。求的考：

--AP or IB Examination(AP考试或IB考试):

U.S. History: score of 3, 4 or 5 on the AP U.S. History exam; score of 5, 6 or 7 on the IB History of the Americas HL exam.

美国历史：AP美国历史获得3分、4分或5分；或IB的美国历史（高阶）获得5分、6分或7分。

--U.S. Government(美国政府): 

Score of 3, 4 or 5 on the AP Exam satisfies a half year.

AP的美国政府考试获得3分、4分或5分可以满足半年要求。

--World History/Cultures/Geography(世界历史/文化/地理):

score of 3, 4 or 5 on the AP exam in European History, World History or Human Geography; score of 5, 6 or 7 on the IB History HL or Geography HL exam.

在AP的欧洲历史、世界历史或人文地理考试种获得3分、4分或5分；或IB的历史（高阶）或地理（高阶）考试种获得5分、6分或7分。

--College courses(大学课程):

-U.S. History/Civics/American Government:

 grade of C or better in a transferable course of 3 or more semester (4 or more quarter) units in U.S. history, civics or American government.

-World History/Cultures/Geography:

grade of C or better in a transferable course of 3 or more semester (4 or more quarter) units in world history, cultures and geography.

-美国历史/公民学/美国政府：

在美国历史，公民学或美国政府的可转课程（4个或以上学季；或者是3个或以上学期）得分为C或C以上。

-世界历史/文化/地理：

在世界历史，文化或地理的可转课程（4个或以上学季；或者是3个或以上学期）得分为C或C以上。

B

English（英语）

具体要求：

Four years of college-preparatory English that include frequent writing, from brainstorming to final paper, as well as reading of classic and modern literature. No more than one year of ESL-type courses can be used to meet this requirement.

四年大学预科的英语课程，包括经常写作，从集体头脑风暴到最终的论文，以及古典和现代文学的阅读。满足这个要求的ESL类课程不得超过1年。

--ACT with Writing（ACT考试（带写作）):

English Language Arts (ELA) score of 24 satisfies the first three years of the requirement. ELA score of 30 satisfies the entire requirement.

英语语言艺术的分数为24分，可以满足前3年的要求；英语语言艺术的分数为30分可以满足4年的要求。

--AP or IB Examination（AP考试或IB考试）：

Score of 3, 4 or 5 on the AP English Language and Composition or English Literature and Composition Exam; score of 5, 6 or 7 on the IB HL English: Literature exam (formerly IB HL English A1).

AP英语语言与写作或AP英语文学与写作获得3分、4分或5分；或IB的英语：文学（高阶，之前的IB HL English A1）获得5分、6分或7分。

--College courses（大学课程）：

For each year required through the 11th grade, a grade of C or better in a course of 3 or more semester (4 or more quarter) units in English composition, literature (American or English) or foreign literature in translation. Courses used to satisfy the fourth year and/or the entire requirement must be transferable. For lower-division transfer, all courses must be transferable. Literature courses must include substantial work in composition.

9年级到11年级的要求是，在英语写作、文学（美国或英国）或外国文学译作的课程（4个或以上学季；或者是3个或以上学期）得分为C或C以上。用于满足第4年和/或所有要求的课程必须为可转课程。对于低年级的转学生来说，所有的课程必须可转。文学课程必须包括大量的写作。

C

Mathematics（数学）

Three years of college-preparatory mathematics that include the topics covered in elementary and advanced algebra and two- and three-dimensional geometry. A geometry course or an integrated math course with a sufficient amount of geometry content must be completed. Approved integrated math courses may be used to fulfill part or all of this requirement, as may math courses taken in the seventh and eighth grades if the high school accepts them as equivalent to its own courses; also acceptable are courses that address the previously mentioned content areas and include or integrate probability, statistics or trigonometry. Courses intended for 11th and/or 12th grade levels may satisfy the required third year or recommended fourth year of the subject requirement if approved as an advanced math course.

Score of 3, 4 or 5 on the AP Statistics Exam satisfies elementary and intermediate algebra.

Score of 3, 4 or 5 on the AP Calculus AB or Calculus BC Exam satisfies two years of the requirement (but not geometry).

Score of 5, 6, or 7 on the IB Mathematics HL exam satisfies two years of the requirement (but not geometry).

统计考试获得3分、4分或5分可以满足初级和中级代数的要求；AP微积分AB或微积分BC获得3分、4分或5分可以满足2年的要求（几何除外）；IB数学（高阶）考试获得5分、6分、7分可以满足2年的要求（几何除外）。

--College courses（大学课程）：

Three semester (4 quarter) units of non-transferable college courses in elementary algebra, geometry, intermediate algebra or trigonometry, with a grade of C or better, satisfy one year of the math requirement.

Grade of C or better in a transferable mathematics course of at least 3 semester (4 quarter) units that has intermediate algebra as a prerequisite satisfies two years of the requirement (but not geometry).

3个学期（4个学季）不可转的大学基础代数、几何、中级代数或三角学课程，获得C或者以上分数，可以满足一年的数学课要求。

至少3个学期（4个学季）的可转的数学课程（包含中级代数作为必备内容的），获得C或者以上分数可以满足2年的数学课要求（几何除外）。

NOTE（注意）: 

All students must complete a geometry course or integrated math with geometry content. One transferable college course will not satisfy the full three-year math requirement.

所有学生必须完成一个几何课程或包含几何内容的综合数学课程。一个可转的大学课程不能够满足三年的数学课要求。

D

Science（科学）

Two years of college-preparatory science, including or integrating topics that provide fundamental knowledge in two of these three subjects: biology, chemistry, or physics. One year of approved interdisciplinary or earth and space sciences coursework can meet one year of the requirement. Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Science courses can be used in area D as an additional science (i.e., third year and beyond).

两年的大学预备课程，包含生物、化学和物理这三门课种的两门课的基础知识。一年的被认可的跨学科或地球与空间科学课程可以满足一年的要求。计算机科学、工程、应用科学可以被作为是附加的科学课程（即第三年或以上）来满足D项要求。

Score of 3, 4 or 5 on any two AP Exams in Biology, Chemistry, Physics (B, C, 1 or 2) and Environmental Science; score of 5, 6 or 7 on any two IB HL exams in Biology, Chemistry or Physics

--College courses（大学课程）：

For each year of the requirement, a grade of C or better in a transferable course of at least 3 semester (4 quarter) units in a natural (physical or biological) science with at least 30 hours of laboratory (not "demonstration").

至少3个学期（4个学季）的自然（物理或生物）科学的可转课程，获得C或者以上分数，并包含至少30个小时的实验课。

E

Language other than English

（非英语类）

Two years of the same language other than English are required. Courses should emphasize speaking and understanding, and include instruction in grammar, vocabulary, reading, composition and culture. American Sign Language and classical languages, such as Latin and Greek, are acceptable. Courses taken in the seventh and eighth grades may be used to fulfill part or all of this requirement if the high school accepts them as equivalent to its own courses.

Score of 3, 4 or 5 on the AP Exam in Chinese Language and Culture, French Language and Culture, German Language and Culture, Italian Language and Culture, Japanese Language and Culture, Spanish Language, Spanish Language and Culture, Spanish Literature and Culture or Latin; score of 5, 6 or 7 on an IB Language A2 HL exam.

AP的中国语言和文化、法国语言和文化、德国语言和文化、意大利语言和文化、日本语言和文化、西班牙语、西班牙语言和文化、西班牙文学和文化或者拉丁语，获得3分、4分或5分；IB 语言A2高阶考试获得5分、6分或7分。

--College courses（大学课程）：

Grade of C or better in any transferable course(s) (excluding conversation) held by the college to be equivalent to two years of high school language. Many colleges list the prerequisites for their second course in language as "Language 1 at this college or two years of high school language." In this case, Language 1 clears both years of the requirement.

大学举办的可转课程的考试（不包含会话）获得C或者以上成绩，相当于高中2年的语言成绩。很多大学把第二门语言课程的必备条件列为“本学校的语言1或2年的高中语言课程”，这种情况下，语言1满足2年的要求。

F

Visual & Performing Arts

（视觉和表演艺术)

One yearlong course of visual and performing arts chosen from the following disciplines: dance, music, theater, visual arts or interdisciplinary arts — or two one-semester courses from the same discipline is also acceptable.

一年的视觉艺术和表演艺术课程，选自以下的学科：舞蹈、音乐、戏剧、视觉艺术或跨学科艺术；或者同一学科的两个学期的课程也是被接受的。

--AP or IB Examination（AP考试或IB考试）：

Score of 3, 4 or 5 on the AP History of Art, Studio Art or Music Theory Exam; score of 5, 6 or 7 on any one IB HL exam in Dance, Film, Music, Theatre Arts or Visual Arts.

AP艺术史、工作室艺术或音乐理论考试获得3分、4分或5分；IB的舞蹈、电影、音乐、戏剧艺术或视觉艺术（高阶）考试获得5分、6分或7分。

--College courses（大学课程）：

Grade of C or better in any transferable course of 3 semester (4 quarter) units that clearly falls within one of four visual/performing arts disciplines: dance, drama/theater, music or visual art.

3个学期（4个学季）的可转课程获得C或以上成绩，从以下4个视觉/表演艺术科目中选1个：舞蹈、戏剧、音乐或视觉艺术。

G

College-Preparation Elective

（大学预备选修课）

One year (two semesters) chosen from courses specific to the elective (G) subject area or courses beyond those used to satisfy the requirements of the A-F subjects.

从选修（G）科目的特定课程中选择1年（2个学期）；或选择超出这些科目的并用于满足A-F科目要求的课程。的考试

--AP or IB Examination（AP考试或IB考试）：

Score of 3, 4 or 5 on any one AP Exam in Computer Science, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Human Geography, Psychology, U.S. Government or Comparative Government; score of 5, 6 or 7 on any one IB HL exam in Economics, Philosophy, Psychology, Social and Cultural Anthropology, or Computer Science.

AP计算机科学、微观经济学、宏观经济学、人文地理学、心理学、美国政府或比较政治这些科目中的任意一门考试获得3分，4分或5分；IB经济学、哲学、心理学、社会和文化人类学或计算机科学这些科目中的任意一门获得5分，6分或7分。

 --College courses（大学课程）：

Grade of C or better in transferable college courses of at least 3 semester (4 quarter) units beyond those listed above as clearing any of the "A-F" requirements.

对于超出A-F科目要求的课程，如果在至少3个学期（4个学季）的可转课程获得C或以上成绩，可满足任何“A-F”的要求。

 小贴士：

同学们可以参考加州系大学的A-G的课程要求进行选课，从而科学合理的选择课程的类别和时长等。比如，以E项目（Language other than English/非英语类）的课程要求为例，要求完成两年的非英语类语言课程（两年必须学习同一门外语），在这样的条件下，如果第一年选修的是西班牙语，第二年选修的是日语，就是不满足条件的。

综上，建议同学们在选校时，充分了解自己的学校能够提供的课程，也充分了解申请大学的具体要求。
