What really makes a school the “best” in America? One of the most important factors is the quality of the classmates you will be studying with. You want to be surrounded by curious and talented minds that will challenge you offer new insight to your studies. The number one reason students choose Harvard Business School is for the network, and I touched on the importance of a community in a previous blog post about new startups.

But are the highest ranking schools really the smartest? Lumosity tries to answer this question with their own study, comparing factors like attention, memory, and speed. They then put together these numbers and ranked the fifty “smartest” colleges in America. Here are the top twenty for your convenience:

6. Washington University in St Louis
