1.Is the Master in Finance Program at Booth a new program?

Yes. Our first cohort of students will begin taking classes in fall 2024.

2.Is the Master in Finance STEM eligible?

The Master in Finance degree is designated STEM-eligible for Optional Practical Training (OPT) purposes. International graduates on F-1 student visas who earn a Chicago Booth master’s degree may be eligible to apply for an additional 24 months of training through work experience.

3. What are the MiF areas of specialization? Am I required to select one?

We offer four specializations: Asset Management, Investment Banking, Fintech, or Research in Finance. We recommend that you choose a specialization, but we do not require it.

4. How long is the program?

The length of the program depends on which track you choose. You can complete the standard track in five quarters or the accelerated track in just a year. Students can elect to complete it in the standard track, in 15 months, or in the accelerated track, in 10 months.
