    Ø  学校会联系学生商讨个性化方案

    Ø  学校了解到目前学生无法考标准语言测试,因此会先给已经注册的学生发full offer,等学生到校后,进行语言测试,并根据测试结果调整学习计划。学校会为此类学生减免最多10周的语言学费。——学生如需收到full offer,必须在上面的链接online form先注册。

    Ø  学校为学生提高个性化的入学安排,包含在线教学、补习等,以确保学生跟上进度。

    Ø  学生注册后,可以在49日前退出,并获得全额退费。前提是学生要在上online form的链接注册、证明由于疫情而无法入境、执行个性化入学方案。

    Ø  以上方案并不适用于所有课程。


    The University is working hard to implement solutions for students unable to travel to New Zealand due to the coronavirus outbreak.

    We have confirmed that about 2,000 of our students are still in China due to the travel ban, and we are now able to identify and make contact with most of them.

    It is unclear when they will be permitted to travel to New Zealand to commence or resume their studies. In the meantime, we are developing plans to teach them at a distance and to provide the support they need to ensure they are disadvantaged as little as possible.

    Please refer to the University website for regular updates as this situation develops.

    Support for affected students

    Semester One will start on 2 March as planned. There are no changes to our start dates or timetable resulting from coronavirus restrictions.

    • Students still in China should register with us via the online form.
    • We will contact students directly to develop a personalised study plan as a temporary measure until they can get to New Zealand.
    • We are aware it isn’t possible to complete English Language tests in China right now.

    English language testing

      • Students who have a current offer of place conditional only on an English Language test, who have registered with us via the online form, will receive a firm offer of place from the University so they can apply for a study visa.
      • We will arrange for students’ English language to be assessed in NZ once they arrive.
      • If a student requires English tuition before starting their academic programme, the University will provide up to ten weeks of English Language tuition for free, through the English Language Academy.
      • To be eligible, students must register with us via the online form, and demonstrate they have been affected by the coronavirus travel restrictions. 

    Study plans

    • Study plans will vary for each student, and might include online material, additional tutorial support or alternative assessment arrangements. We’ll assign students a study buddy to help keep them on track.
    • Once they begin their study plan, students will have until 9 April 2020 to withdraw from enrolled courses and receive a full refund. For all other students that date is 13 March 2020. To be eligible for this later withdrawal date, they will need to:  
      • Register with us now via the online form.       
      • Demonstrate they’ve been unable to get back to NZ due to coronavirus restrictions.       
      • Have engaged with the personalised study plan option and given it a try.     
    • Study plans won’t be available for all programmes or courses. Some students may need to defer enrolment until Semester Two. Students need to register with us via the online form before the start of Semester One 2020 to be eligible to explore other options.

    University student accommodation

    If students are coming from China or have visited China in the last 14 days, the following applies:

    • If students have a local support base in Auckland it is recommended they stay with them for the first 14 days. If they do not have that option they will be asked to isolate themselves in accommodation for 14 days.
    • If living in a studio unit, accommodation staff can ensure food orders are delivered to the unit.
    • If living in shared self-catered accommodation, staff can arrange for prepared meals to be delivered. These will be charged at cost. Students will be asked to use a specific bathroom and accommodation staff will arrange for additional cleaning.
    • If living in catered accommodation, accommodation staff will deliver meals. Students will be asked to use a specific bathroom and accommodation will arrange for additional cleaning.
    • Once the accommodation contract starts students will be liable for any costs incurred. If affected students cancel any time before the contract begins they will get a full refund, including the deposit.
    • If a student cancels their room and then needs student accommodation later this semester, they will be given priority placement on any places available.
    • If a student wants to return in Semester Two 2020, they will be considered before other students provided they apply for accommodation by 24 April 2020.
    • If a student can’t attend University and cancels after the contract starts, they will be charged the regular room rate until they decide to cancel, at which time they can cancel with a 2 week penalty.
    • The University may have some temporary accommodation options available for students who arrive from China and cannot access their private accommodation arrangements. Students requesting a full semester or year will be given priority over those looking for short-term accommodation.
