Registration as an Architect

In each state and territory of Australia it is a legal requirement that any person using the title ‘architect’ or offering services to the public as an architect, must be registered with the Architects’ Board in that jurisdiction.  [Note:  Eachstate and territory architects board publishes its register of Architects.  Not all members of the AIA (Australian Institute of Architects) are able to use the title ‘architect’.]

Each State and Territory of Australia has its own Architects’ Board. Generally, the following three steps outline the requirements for registration as an architect in a State or Territory of Australia.

You must:

·         have a recognised academic qualification in architecture or a pass in the National Program of Assessment (NPrA), or a pass in the relevant Registration Board Prescribed Examinations where offered;

·         have a period of training through experience followed by successful completion of the AACA Architectural Practice Examination (APE); and

·         apply for registration to the Architects’ Board in the State or Territory in which registration is sought.

先要求去澳大利亚皇家建筑师认证公会评估为移民意义上的预备建筑师，评估成建筑师有２个途径，第一就即是获得澳大利亚大学建筑学的学历（目前的设置一般是３年本科＋２年硕士），第二是经过举国统一的考试（nationalprogramofassessment）,或者经过各州的考试（从移民评估的角度来讲，符合这一步的要求就可以职业评估分60分）。

要求介绍的是，移民以后，要获得正规建筑师资格，还要求在所在的州开展登记，一般要求有一些工作经历，并且参与统一的考核（finalassessment(rae)），才可以成功真正的建筑师．

建筑师是澳大利亚受人尊重的职业之一。澳大利亚大学在这方面具有较强的教学优势，值得花钱去学习。澳大利亚建筑专业人才短缺，澳洲当局通过移民政策来吸引该专业的人才。近几年来，建筑学学士毕业生的年平均收入水平呈稳步上升的趋势，就业率相对比较平稳，建筑学学士毕业生人数最多的两个州是新南威尔士州和维多利亚州。在就业率上，新南威尔士州达到了91.8，其次是昆士兰州，为88.3，最低的是首都地区，仅为53.3。这一比例在所有专业中，算是一个相对容易就业的专业
