生物统计学专业介绍
该专业是探讨如何进行生物学实验研究的设计、取样、分析、资料整理与推论的学科,是美国统计学专业最热门的领域。很多学校把生物统计设置在公共卫生学院(SPH,School of Public Health)里面。通常情况下,SPH周围还会有医学院和医院,这些单位混合在一起提供了一个良好的科研环境。
生物统计和统计的区别:
· 生物统计是统计的一个分支,这二者本质上是一个专业,或生统隶属于统计的分支。
· 统计系更加偏向开展理论研究,生物统计更加偏向于和生物学或者医学结合实际运用。
· 统计系的研究范围包括工业、商业、经济以及其他领域; 生物统计的研究范围着重是在生命科学。
