影像医学专业的定义：

作为一门科学，医学影像属于生物影像，并包含影像诊断学、放射学、内视镜、医疗用热影像技术、医学摄影和显微镜。另外，包括脑波图和脑磁造影等技术，虽然重点在于测量和记录，没有影像呈显，但因所产生的数据俱有定位特性(即含有位置信息)，可被看作是另外一种形式的医学影像。

约翰霍普金斯大学影像医学是Biomedical Engineering的研究方向之一，专业名称为Biomedical imaging and instrumentation，且约翰霍普金斯大学Biomedical Engineering项目和国内的清华大学有个双学位的项目

Deeply interdisciplinary, biomedical engineering applies modern approaches from the experimental life sciences in conjunction with theoretical and computational methods from engineering, mathematics and computer science to the solution of biomedical problems of fundamental importance, such as human health.

A complete application includes the following:

4.      3 letters of recommendation from previous instructors or employers

5.      A statement of your interest and motivation for pursuing biomedical engineering graduate studies

What GRE scores do I need to get to be accepted?

There are no published universal GRE score minimums needed to be considered for admission. Each department has its own criteria. Please keep in mind that each applicant’s complete application – including your transcripts, letters of recommendation and other academic accomplishments – will be considered before an admissions decision is made. Feel free to peruse the website of the department to which you are applying to see if they cite specific score requirements.

I have to take the TOEFL/IELTS. Is there a score minimum?

Applicants seeking admission who have taken the TOEFL test will preferably have a score of at least 100 for the Internet Based Test, 250 for the Computer Based Test, or 600 for the Paper Based Test. Applicants seeking admission who have taken the IELTS test will preferably have an academic Band Score at least equal to 7.

There is no universal GPA needed to be considered for admission. Each department has its own criteria. Please keep in mind that each applicant’s complete application – including your transcripts, letters of recommendation and other academic accomplishments – will be considered before an admissions decision is made.

Full-Time Graduate Student Expense

Please Note:

1.       There may be extra charges for taking classes in either the intersession or in summer. It may not be covered by your departmental aid. Check with the Office of Student Accounts and your department academic staff before registering.

2.       The University does not provide housing for graduate students.

3.       The 12-month estimated cost is important for incoming international graduate students.

4.       Enrolled students approved for Nonresident Status must enroll every semester in the Nonresident  are charged an annual fee of $: $2435.50 per semester in place of full-time tuition (10% of full-time tuition).

5.       For the purposes of the I-20 each dependent is assigned an additional expense of $3,500/person
