克莱姆森大学最好的学系是电子工程，计算机工程的研究院课程，更是全美规模最大。化学系方面，自从总值12，000，000美元的全新实验室兴建完成后，更壮大了声势。大学的农科是历史最悠久和最优秀的学科。此外，建筑系也很有名气，挑选学生十分严格。如果学生成绩优异，可获选为荣誉学位生。

克莱姆森大学设有农林和生命科学学院、建筑、艺术与人文学院、商业与公共事务学院、工程与科学学院健康、教育与人类发展学院等五个学院，提供70多个学士学位项目和 100个硕士学位项目。该大学在创造艺术、健康、人类发展、人文和社会科学等学科领域具有很强的基础教学实力，特别注重发展学生的交际与批判思维能力、道德判断能力和全球意识以及科技知识的教育。研究一直是克莱姆森大学(Clemson University)教育的重要部分，尤其是机械艺术与科学系的实验教学与培训驰誉美国。其机械工程系在汽车科技研发表现杰出并得到德国BMW汽车公司赞助合作成立研究中心。克莱姆森大学国际汽车研究中心（CU-ICAR）坐落于南卡罗来纳州格林维尔市，为该校车辆工程专业提供硕士、博士教育。宝马、微软、IBM、博世(BOSCH)、铁姆肯（TIMKEN）和米其林(MICHELIN)是研究中心的主要合作伙伴。

学校一直把教学和实践的有机联系作为第一宗旨，优越的地理位置和便利的交通使得学生有机会到大城市实践自己的课堂所学。学校鼓励学生积极参加各种课外活动来增长见识，开阔视野。该校共有各类学生社团与组织275个。学生选修最多的学科，依次是商科管理(26%)、工程(19%)、师范教育(13%)、社会科学(7%)和农科(5%)。前一两年有8，065人投考，共5，257人获录取，尚不算难考取。

值得一提的是，商业与公共事务学院是该校比较有影响和特色的学院。其教育宗旨是培养具有全球竞争力和企业家精神、致力于社会进步与发展的合格的领导人才。该学院的特色在于部分研究生项目是由该院与其他系或大学合作提供的。如，应用经济学是该院与农林与生命科学学院的工业与应用经济学系合作教学与管理的，而公共管理硕士是由政治科学系与南卡罗莱纳大学的政府与国际关系系合作教学的，管理科学专业的博士项目是由管理系与工程与科学学院的数学系合作管理的。另外，院方为其毕业研究生提供大量在商业、工业、政府部门和教育部门就业的机会。
