（一）专业介绍
工业工程（Industrial Engineering 简称IE），是从科学管理的基础上发展起来的一门应用性工程专业技术。工业工程又分传统IE和现代IE。传统IE是通过时间研究与动作研究，工厂布置，物料搬运，生产计划和日程安排等，以提高劳动生产率。
现代IE以运筹学和系统工程作为理论基础，以计算机作为先进手段，兼容并蕴涵了诸多新学科和高新技术。（摘自百度百科）

研究主要集中于制造、物流、供应链相关领域；
现代IE：
Operations Research
Industrial & Systems Engineering
Management Science & Engineering
除制造外，研究领域涉及金融、信息、医疗、服务、研发等。
工业工程的专业细分方向：
1. 人因工程 Human Factors：人体工程学，工程心理学，安全工程
2. 制造 Manufacturing：激光材料处理，自动化，纳米材料制造，生物材料制造
3. 运筹学 Operations Research：复杂系统建模，分布式决策，排队论，博弈论，交互系统优化
4. 生产系统 Production Systems：供应链系统，生产系统建模与分析，工业生态学，机器人
