Panelist Jenna Lauer, managing partner, Hall & Partners, took one of her first marketing classes in the late ‘90s with Rex Kovacevich, professor of clinical marketing.

In an October 4th evening event exclusively for students in USC Marshall’s Master’s of Science in Marketing program, seven marketers introduced themselves and described how they got to where they are now. Then they broke into smaller, roundtable groups for more detailed discussions with students.

Badame taps her extensive professional network to identify marketing leaders and make the ask. But after five years, many already know about the program. “They want to talk to our students,” she says. “They know about the program, and they want to be involved.”

“I originally came at the bequest of a student a few years ago, and now I feel like I’m grandfathered in,” said Rick Lucas, a client partner at Facebook. “But I don’t mind at all, and in fact I enjoy these events. These students are the future.”
