Its predecessor was the New Oriental Overseas Consulting Service Center, which was founded in 1996. The company's business scope covers a wide range, including examination guidance, study abroad planning, school application, visa services and other "one-stop" study abroad services. New Oriental has established good cooperative relations with many educational institutions in many countries and regions such as United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, etc., and its branches are located in 43 cities across the country.

Mr. Michael M Yu
Founder, Chairman
New Oriental Education & Technology Group

Mr. Michael Minhong Yu is the founder of our company and has served as the chairman of our board of directors since August 2001. He was our chief executive officer from 2001 to September 2016. Mr. Yu currently serves as the chairman of the board, executive director and chief executive officer of East Buy Holding Limited (HKEX: 1797), a majority-owned subsidiary of New Oriental.
Prior to founding our first school in 1993, Mr. Yu was an English instructor at Peking University from 1985 to 1991. Mr. Yu received his bachelor’s degree in English from Peking University.

Mr. Chenggang Zhou

Mr. Chenggang Zhou has served as our director since November 2010 and chief executive officer since September 2016. Mr. Zhou joined New Oriental in 2000 and has held multiple positions in our company since then, including president, executive president for domestic business, executive vice president, vice president and president of Beijing and Shanghai New Oriental Schools.
Prior to joining us, Mr. Zhou was a correspondent for the Asia Pacific region and a program host at BBC. Mr. Zhou received his bachelor’s degree in English from Suzhou University in China and his master’s degree in communications from Macquarie University, Australia.

Mr. Sun Tao

Mr. Sun Tao is the CEO of Beijing New Oriental Vision Overseas Consulting Co. Ltd, a leading player in the educational consulting and recruitment industry in China. He is a well-known English teaching and global education expert, having authored several bestselling books in IELTS test-prep. After studying at Beijing Foreign Studies University, he received his Master’s degree from Warwick University in the UK.

2024 year

For four consecutive years, NOVO has held the ‘Summit Forum on Internationalized Talent Development in Chinese Universities’ and released the ‘Research Report on University Students’ Further Study and Employment’. With active participation from leaders and educators from over 150 universities across China, the forum has established a platform for international and innovative exchanges among Chinese universities.
For ten consecutive years, NOVO has published insightful reports on the study abroad industry. These reports have recently been upgraded into a comprehensive series of books on international talent development, titled ‘Report on the Development of Chinese Students’ Overseas Study’, offering professional guidance for Chinese families considering study abroad opportunities.
For four consecutive years, NOVO has launched the book series on international talent research, named ‘Dialogue with Youth’, which focuses on the stories of students studying abroad at different stages of their lives. This series shows the growth experiences of students pursuing their dreams in various times and environments.

NOVO “The Exploration of the Elite Institutes of UK and Europe” has restart from ten years. Visits higher education institutions, well-known middle schools and art institutions with characteristics of the United Kingdom and six European countries deeply.
NOVO “Vision on the Way” held the third “Chinese Universities’ International Talent Forum”, more than 100 university leaders and teachers participated in the meeting and carried out in-depth discussions
NOVO International Education Exhibition has been held for 57 years, covering more than 40 cities across the country
