This programme is designed to provide both professional and academic training about journalism to people from a wide variety of background. Students graduating from universities not majoring in journalism and communication who nonetheless are interested in a career in journalism could learn the basic techniques and knowledge in the field. Working journalists and/or professionals from other occupations who need to deal with the media could benefit from the intellectual training so as to deepen their understanding of journalism.

香港中文大学

香港中文大学成立于1963年,是香港第二所成立的大学,亦是香港八所受政府香港大学教育资助委员会资助并可颁授学位的高等教育院校之一,香港中文大学是香港采用书院制度的高等学府。大学原有三所成员书院,分别为新亚书院(1949年创立)、崇基学院(1951年创立)和联合书院(1956年创立)。1976年12月,政府订立大学新条例,修改中文大学及各成员书院的组织章程和权责范围。1986年7月,政府复立法通过中文大学成立第四所成员书院逸夫书院。新书院于1988年开始录取学生。教师及全日制本科生均分别隶属四所成员书院。
