近年来，留学低龄化的趋势愈发明显，选择去加拿大读中学的中国学生越来越多。其中大多数的学生都会选择安大略省（Ontario，以下简称安省）或者英属哥伦比亚省（British Columbia，以下简称BC省）。这两个省份是加拿大教育资源最强，名校最为集中的省份。
这两个省份的中学教育体制有什么不同呢？今天我们就来分析一下。
一、阶段划分不同

二、要求的学分不同
安省30个学分，其中18个必修学分，12个选修学分。

三、毕业要求不同
安省
该考试自2001年开始，考试时间为每年3月份的最后一个周四，目的是测试10年级的时候通过考试，国际学生在毕业前通过即可。
BC省
其中Grade 12 Language Arts成绩占最终成绩的40%，其他科目占20%。
四、毕业文凭名称不同
安省Ontario Secondary School Diploma OSSD证书
BC省Dogwood Diploma木茱萸（zhū yú）证书，以BC省省花命名。
五、课程设置不同
安省
4 Credits in English (1 credit per grade)
3 Credits in Mathematics (1 credit in Grade 11 or 12)
2 Credits in Science
1 Credit in Canadian History
1 Credit in Canadian Geography
1 Credit in the Arts

剩下3个学分分别从以下3组课程中获得：
Group 1:
English or French as a secondary language, a Native Language, a Classical or an international language, social sciences and humanities, Canadian and world studies, guidance and career education, cooperative education
Group 2:
Health and Physical education, the arts, business studies, French as a secondary language, cooperative education
Group 3:
Science (Grade 11 or 12), Technological education, French as a secondary language, cooperative education
需特别注意的是，在English的4个学分中，English as a secondary Language或者English Literacy Development最多可以修3个学分，最后一个学分必须是12年级英语课。French as a secondary language最多可以修2个学分，第一组课程中1个学分，第二组或第三组1个学分。此外，cooperative education最多可以修2个学分。

在Planning 10的课程中，学生会学到如何定位将来的专业和职业发展方向，到11年级和12年级的时候，可以选修自己感兴趣的课程，具体课程如下：

Illiberal Arts and Humanities
Science and Applied Science

BC省颁布了2018年毕业要求（2018 Graduation Program），适用于2017/2018年入读9年级或10年级的学生。新要求在必修课程上做了一些调整，具体如下：

通过上述比较我们可以看出，安省教育条件灵活，对学生的毕业要求也相对宽松，没有设置省考，只要高中课程全部通过，就可以获得毕业证书申请大学。
相对来说，BC省教育制度严谨，对学生的管理也相对严格，在BC省高中学习必须通过省考才可以获得高中毕业证书并顺利升入大学。
安省和BC省的高中课程各有优势利弊，究竟哪一个更加适合学生，还是要考虑学生的自身情况。
