会计学是一门实践性很强的学科，既研究会计的原理、原则，探求那些能揭示会计发展规律的理论体系与概念结构；又研究会计原理和原则的具体应用。会计学从理论和方法两个方面为会计实践服务，成为人们改进会计工作、完善会计系统的指南。会计工作是将财政、经济的数据进行搜集、处理、总结，并将之作为指导商业管理决策的科学根据。会计学与商业管理都有着多方面的联系，如成本、税务、利润、预算等都是商业管理中很重要的一部分。专业会计师是商业管理中不可替代的重要人才。

Candidates for our Finance programmes should hold a good undergraduate degree (2:1 or above or its international equivalent), in a subject with a high mathematical/quantitative content. Subjects meeting these requirements are Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or Physics. Other subjects may be considered if quantitative modules have been studied in sufficient depth. IELTS with a grade of at least 6.5 overall and no less than 6.0 for any of the four parts.

In the third term, you will complete a 12,000 word dissertation, a business project (a real commercial challenge sourced by you or the Business School) or a placement (sourced by you and supported by the Business School). Supervised by a faculty member with relevant experience, you’ll investigate in greater detail a subject that you’ve already studied as part of your programme.
入学要求
The Masters in Finance is designed for new or recent graduates in any subject or discipline. Certain programmes will also be of interest if you’re already a practitioner in the financial field. You should have a strong background in a related discipline and your first degree should have a substantial economics and statistics content. IELTS of 6.5 or above with no element below 6.0, or 92 or above in TOEFL IBT with no element below 23.

An upper second class honours degree, or equivalent professional qualification. A recent GMAT score of at least 600, balanced across verbal, written and quantitative elements. (Those scoring less than 4.5 on the analytical writing element may be required to complete the Lancaster Admissions Essay). Usually at least three years of work experience since graduation, with preference for significant managerial responsibilities. Two good references, two pre-course essays and a case for studying an MBA are required. IELTS: 7.0 or equivalent (minimum element scores apply). Interviews: UK based - face to face. 学科介绍
在英联邦国家，大部分职业都会有一个或多个专业机构，一方面组织业内人士，同时对大学的相关课程进行评估和认定。英国的人力资源协会叫The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, CIPD），在英国从事与HR相关的工作，几乎都需要拿到CIPD证书。英国不少大学的人力资源管理硕士课程都是经过CIPD认证的，代表了在人力资源管理和发展领域的最高水平。
人力资源管理专业在英国有不同的叫法，课程设置也有不同的侧重方向：我们常见到的Industrial Relations（IR）和Human Resource Management（HRM） 在课程设置上偏重于Industrial Relations, Collective Bargaining, Compensation, Employment Management, Data-based Decision Making之类的HR基础和高级课程。而Organizational Behavior（OB）和Operating System（OS）相比之下则偏重于Organizational Behavior, Strategic Organizational Studies, Organizational Change, Quality Assessment之类的组织心理学、组织行为学及人才测评学课程。毕业后，在企业录用时，IR/HRM master的毕业生比较吃香,因为就业可选范围更广。同为商科课程之一，人力资源管理方向的招生人数比起会计金融等专业的而言相对较少，部分院校该专业的申请还要求申请者有工作经验，因此也造成了申请难度增大。
