1.1课程设置：
Curriculum
The MUD core courses cover urban design theories, site planning, ecology, research methods, design technologies and design thinking. The urban design studio projects expose students to a range of contemporary urban design issues and challenges. Students are required to attend a compulsory fieldtrip to local or overseas destinations that are related to courses. The department also organize optional local fieldtrips on monthly basis
During the 3 semesters, 12 months programme, students are expected to complete a minimum of 90 credits courses, including 5 core courses, 1 elective course, 2 design studio courses and the capstone research dissertation and design thesis.

Summer Semester
- MUDP1003 Research dissertation & urban design thesis (30 credits)
Studio is a mix of lecture/seminar/workshop, field visits, tutorial and urban design review organized in group of 8-9 students. Studio combines group work and individual work. The Research dissertation & urban design thesis is individual and led by the student with a supervisor.
Urban design knowledge, design and research skills across spatial scale are sought after by consulting firms, development organizations, communities and local, metropolitan, regional and national authorities where they are engaged in urban design appraisal and evaluation, the preparation of urban design policies, strategies, frameworks, guidelines, masterplans and programs, as well as be involved in management of urban place making. Urban design social-media commentators and practitioners in education are also in demand.

作品集要求：
An electronic copy of a design portfolio in pdf format only, demonstrating your most important design, research, drawings, creative or professional work. There are no limits on layout and embedded content, yet the portfolio should be one pdf file only and should not exceed 50 pages (100 Mb). On the content page, you need to mark the date, the nature of project (i.e. academic, personal, or professional), and collaboration information. If the project is collaborative work, you need to clearly indicate your role in it. Showing other people’s projects or undeclared teamwork are UNACCEPTABLE and will results in serious consequences.

香港大学城市设计硕士课程是香港大学建筑学院城市规划与设计系开设的为期一年的全日制研究生课程。香港大学城市设计硕士课程旨在为学生提供建筑环境设计领域高质量教育，从而满足城市设计、建筑学、园林建筑学、交通运输工程和城市规划领域的从业者继续深造以适应社会发展的需求。 香港大学城市设计硕士课程着眼于亚洲城市发展和设计中遇到的挑战，充分利用香港作为最优势的城市设计学习空间，以及城市设计实践地的地理优势，通过理论教学和城市设计工程实例分析，使学生能参与多种热点课题的探究，包括人口密度、城市化、健康、能源、气候变化等等。此外，通过课程讲座、研讨会、实地考察、设计室实践和论文等多种学习方式相结合的学习模式，学生将熟练掌握城市设计香港的专业技能。 目前，香港大学城市设计硕士课程是香港地区内唯一获得英国皇家城市规划协会（RTPI）专业认可的城市设计类课程。香港大学城市设计硕士学位课程的教职团队包括了城市设计领域内首屈一指的专家学者和城市设计领域及相关学科的卓越的建筑设计师们。
