该同学是在大三的寒假电话过来咨询博士申请,当时令我影响最深刻的是她的高GPA,但由于大三下学期马上要开始博士申请的套磁,同时S同学的GT分数也都没有出,所以接下来的申请时间还是很紧张的。
首先我们制定了明确的语言学习和考试时间计划,严格的开始执行。另一方面,我们开始锁定申请学校,带着S同学开始做选校和选教授的工作,再次特注明一点:建议学生尽早开始这项工作,并且要看中意教授近两年的文献,这一点很重要!
在四月初的时候,S同学成功刷出104分,虽然不高,但是套磁是足够的了。GRE也在S同学的努力下顺利拿下。同时,我们通过对学校和教授的了解,锁定了第一封套磁信的对象,顺利开始套磁。套磁的过程一定不是一帆风顺的,但是务必要坚持坚持在坚持,通过不同的联系渠道联系到给你录取的决策者,并且建立好的联系甚至提前达成一致,这对于顺利拿到录取是非常有利的。
由于签约的时间 较晚,其实最大的Bug在于我们没有足够的时间来丰富S同学的学术背景,只能通过文书深挖出亮点做展示。在强大的博士申请大军中,竞争真的是非常的激烈,即便之前有套磁还不错的教授,在网申递交后,学校的回复依然不是很乐观,但我们一直很坚持,不断的向教授和招生官展现自己的优势以及对于博士申请的坚持,终于在4月中旬,等来了美国前20学校——圣母大学的全奖博士的录取信。
这个录取实在得来不易,有一个小插曲,在正式的录取信发来之前,套磁的教授提前邮件告知了这一结果,我想,提前的套磁也是为这枚录取助力不少的哦~!
