Congratulations! On behalf of Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College, I am writing to inform you that you have been granted admission to the master's program in English Language Learners. Your admission reflects your strong academic credentials, commitment to learning, fit with the mission of the Peabody community, and your breadth of impactful experiences. This offer of admission is for study in the department of Teaching and Learning beginning in Fall 2020.
I am pleased to offer you the Dean's Tuition Scholarship (DTS) which will cover 50% of your tuition for professional study at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of education and human development. Please be sure to read more details about your award after the signature line of this letter.
To help you start envisioning your experience here in Nashville at Vanderbilt’s Peabody College, I’d like to point out several aspects of the “Peabody Difference”:

In your English Language Learners Program, you’ll engage in research and teaching with nationally recognized faculty who work closely with language learners to promote equitable learning opportunities for all. Please mark your calendar for Welcome Weekend, March 27-28, 2020 and New Student Orientation, August 24-25, 2020. Welcome Weekend is entirely optional. The event is designed for your convenience simply as an opportunity for a first-hand look at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. More information will be sent via email about both of these events as the dates get closer.
As a part of our commitment to support graduate learning, Peabody College works closely with the Vanderbilt English Language Center (ELC). Students will be enrolled in US Education Concepts and Communication
(USECC) in their first semester to ensure they quickly adapt to the Peabody environment. Main USECC Objectives: Understand educational concepts in the context of the U.S. educational system Communicate effectively in presentations and discussions Develop confidence in participating in graduate-level academic discourse Explore and utilize educational research tools In addition, this course provides an important introduction to U.S. education history, social context, and policies, as well as information specific to Peabody College. The course fee is $100.
We ask that you respond to this offer of admission by April 15, 2020 using the online Student Response Form at the top of your application status page. Acceptance of this offer signifies that you have read and
agree to comply with all your scholarship terms and conditions. Furthermore, accepting this award requires payment of a $250 non-refundable tuition deposit. The deposit will secure your place in the incoming class and
will be credited to your student account and applied to your tuition upon enrollment. Your acceptance of admission is not complete until this deposit is paid. Please visit the Admitted Students Website for important
information, including an enrollment checklist, about your offer of admission.
