英国翻译类专业详解
翻译类专业分类
l 翻译，是指在准确通顺的基础上，把一种语言信息转变成另一种语言信息的行为，主要有笔译和口译两种形式。从翻译的运作的程序上看包括理解、转换、表达三个环节。
l 翻译专业主要分为： 口译、笔译、应用翻译研究 、视听翻译研究 、翻译与口译等。
英国翻译类专业优势特别
l 英国是全球最早开始现代翻译专业研究的国家，而且是目前全球翻译专业教学质量最高、开设语种最全、适用性最强、开设专业最多的国家。英国的翻译专业总结起来有如下特点：
l 1.语种齐全，开设几乎针对所有语种的翻译专业；
l 2.研究历史悠久，拥有很多世界知名的顶尖学府，且汇集了当今世界最顶尖的导师。如：Newcastle的翻译学院被誉为全球三大最顶尖的翻译学院之一；Bath大学是联合国指定的翻译培训大学；
l 3.注重实践，实习机会多。经过大学的学习，毕业生能直接上岗从事一线的翻译工作；
l 4.根据具体专业及课程的不同，实行大班和小班交叉授课；
l 5.专业针对性强。开设针对不同专业领域的专业翻译课程；
l 6.注重与传播学、新闻和社会学等多学科的跨领域交叉培养；
翻译学就业方向
l 全国现有相关从业人员50万，其中职业翻译4万多人，受过专业训练的翻译人才则更少。目前国内市场最紧缺五类翻译人才，分别为科技口译、会议口译、法庭口译、商务口译、联络陪同口译和文书翻译。
l 中国的翻译服务市场正在急速膨胀。目前各类专业翻译注册公司企业有3000多家，以咨询公司、打印社等名义注册而实际承揽翻译业务的公司更有数万家之多。仅在上海，翻译注册公司就有200多家。翻译服务队伍不足仍然是困扰翻译产业的一大难题。
l 中国现有在岗聘任的翻译专业人员约6万人，翻译从业人员保守估计达50万人，而有关抽样调查显示该数字可能达到100万人。即使如此，现有的翻译队伍仍无法满足巨大的市场需求。
l 首先，国内专业外语人员少，又集中在少数经济相对发达的城市和政府部门中;其次，外译中工作由于相对容易，人才缺口不大，但能够胜任中译外工作的高质量人才则严重不足，估计缺口高达90%以上。因此，翻译专业的就业前景非常好。

Stage 1

You will take optional modules to a value of 20 credits from available modules within the University, with the agreement of the Degree Programme Director.

l Stage 1 入学要求：An upper-second-class Honours degree or higher or a degree with a minimum average of 75 per cent (or GPA 2.75) on your transcript. In addition, we require native English speaking applicants to have a good degree-level knowledge of Chinese. When applying, please enclose any evidence you may have to support your second language proficiency qualification.
l Stage 1语言要求：overall IELTS grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each component, or equivalent.
l Stage 2 入学要求：An upper-second-class Honours degree or an equivalent. You must also have expert second-language knowledge.
l Stage 2语言要求：IELTS 7.5 with a minimum of 7.0 in all sub-skills.
