Do not transfer or remit money.
Actively communicate with people around and enrich the life of studying abroad,It is recommended that the majority of overseas students actively participate in various orientation activities organized by the university and the Chinese Federation of Students, and get familiar with the campus and the surrounding environment as soon as possible.
Keep in touch with family members, avoid "losing contact", contact with domestic family members regularly, keep the line of communication open, and take the initiative to let your family know you are safe.When traveling, inform your family members of your personal itinerary, emergency contact information and fellow travelers in advance to avoid unnecessary worry and anxiety to your family.
开学季，驻加拿大使馆特别提醒：

保证人身安全，实现平安留学，牢固树立“人身安全第一”意识，学习了解必要安全知识，提高避险能力。如遇不良分子歧视、仇恨或其他不当言行挑衅，保持冷静、灵活应对，避免升级为肢体冲突，尽快报警或请他人协助报警，及时向校方反映有关情况并求助。如遇突发安全事件，请及时拨打报警电话“911”(匪警、火警、急救)或所在学校校警电话报警。

保持必要警觉，谨防电信诈骗，开学季是电信诈骗案件高发期，请务必提高安全防范意识。请勿在接听电话中随意透露姓名、住址、银行账户等重要个人信息，不转账、不汇款；
三． 积极沟通交流，丰富留学生活，建议广大留学人员积极参加校方及中国学联组织的各类迎新活动，尽快熟悉校园及周边环境。
四. 与家人保持联系，避免无故“失联”,与国内家人定期联系，保持通讯畅通，主动报平安。外出旅行时，提前将个人行程、紧急联系方式及同行人员等信息告知家人，避免给家人造成不必要的担忧和焦虑。
