就在今天上午澳洲总理莫里森宣布：即日起，国际学生和打工度假签证持有人入境后可以获得签证费的返还，其中国际留学生签证费（630澳元）退还持续8周，打工度假签证费（495澳元）退还持续12周。需要注意的是国际留学生必须入澳后，才能在移民局官网申请签证费退还。

“The federal government will rebate visa application fees for backpackers and international students heading to Australia in an attempt to address the workforce shortage.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced on Wednesday the $630 fee for international students would be covered for the next eight weeks.”
当前有15万留学生、2.35万打工度假签证持有人还在澳洲境外。在谈到国际学生时，莫里森表示，他鼓励留学生们在新学年开始时回来，并强调“感谢你们选择澳大利亚”！
财政部长Frydenberg 也希望此举能给目前澳洲经济情况带来显著的变化。政府借此想要吸引大约17.5万留学生和打工度假签证持有人入澳，将预计投入5500万澳元来用于减免符合条件者的签证申请费用。
“Mr Frydenberg said the government wanted to lure an estimated 175,000 foreign students and working holiday makers to come to the country and the scheme was expected to cost $55 million.”
