Programme Overview
This stream falls under the Master of Education offered by the Faculty of Education, HKU, with a 1-year full-time mode and a 2-year part-time mode available. It targets school administrative staff, managers of educational organisations and frontline teachers.
The curriculum covers educational leadership, school-based management, organisational theories for educational institutions, education legislation and institutional operation, alongside foundational modules in educational research. Students are required to complete a professional portfolio or a minor research project for graduation.
Graduates may pursue careers in school administration, institutional operation and education policy, or proceed to further academic studies in education-related disciplines.
Entry Requirements
Academic Background
A bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution with no restrictions on undergraduate majors. Applicants with relevant work experience in school management or educational administration stand to benefit their applications.
Language Proficiency (valid for two years)
- IELTS: Overall band score of 6.5 with no subtest below 6.0
- TOEFL iBT: Minimum total score of 93
Applicants who completed their undergraduate studies entirely in English may apply for a language test waiver subject to university regulations.

Supplementary Notes
