The members of the Class of 2021 arrived at the Law School on August 20, 2018, hailing from 39 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, China, Jamaica, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela. Their records of achievements, awards, honors, leadership, employment, and service indicate students who will individually and collectively uphold the fine tradition of William & Mary Law School.

Political science, history, English, international relations, psychology, philosophy, economics, and journalism are the predominant majors of the Class of 2021. Many other disciplines are represented and include accounting, biochemistry, biology, the classics, German, mechanical engineering, and music. Thirteen members of the class have graduate degrees including an M.A. in English from Stanford, an M.A. in educational leadership & policy studies from the University of Virginia, an M.A. in conflict security and development from King's College of London, and an M.S.W. from New York University.
Members of the Class of 2021 come to William & Mary with a variety of different experiences.
- Fifty percent of the class has full-time work experience, including work in the private sector, federal government, non-profit organizations, and the legal profession.
- Five members served or are serving in the military.
- Students were active in student life, serving as student-body president and organization leaders and participating in study abroad, Model UN, Mock Trial, and speech and debate.
- Members have served in AmeriCorps and CityYear. Two have served as delegates for the United Nations as part of the Commission for Human Rights for Uru-Luz and the Intergovernmental Panel of Biodiversity & Ecosystem Services. Others have been members of Boards of Education and on the Boards of Directors for various non-profit organizations.
- The class includes varsity athletes in baseball, field hockey, wrestling, ice hockey, track & field, football, lacrosse, softball, basketball, soccer, swimming, and water polo. Others are talented musicians and performers, and the class also includes published authors and a motivational speaker.
In addition to the Class of 2021 J.D. candidates, 28 students joined William & Mary Law School for study of the American Legal System as LL.M. candidates. These new members of the Law School community are citizens of China, England, Korea, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia. One is a U.S. permanent resident from Bulgaria. Most have been trained in law in their home nations, and we are excited for the contributions and added understanding that they bring to William & Mary.
