What does the Vericant Interview test?
English skills:
·Articulation. How clearly can you speak?
·Vocabulary. How many words do you know?
·Grammar.
·Fluency (most important). Can you speak coherently without stopping or using Chinese?
In addition, they want to know a little bit about your critical thinking:
·Logic. Are you thinking before your speak?
·In-depth knowledge. Can you go beyond the surface of a topic?
·Global perspective. Can you see things the way somebody outside of China would see them?
·Innovation. Do you have ideas that the interviewer has never had before?
They are not testing your overall knowledge! They just want to see if you can express yourself in English. Remember, the interviewer doesn't care if your answer is true, they care that it shows off your English! So, as I said, fluency is the most important thing.

因此，在面试中，你英语的流利程度是最重要的。
Here is how to introduce yourself. Talk about your hobbies, your school, your academics, anything you want. Avoid to talk about difficult topics that might cause you to "hit a wall". What I mean "hit a wall"? if you get too detailed, you might run into a situation where you can no longer use English to describe what you wish to talk about. And don't prepare a script, it is really easy for a teacher to tell if you remember a script. Do prepare a few simple general topics to discuss.
维立克面试开始，面试官会和你寒暄，然后要求你做一个简单的自我介绍。你可以谈谈你的兴趣爱好，你的学校，你的学术，任何你想讲的话题。但要避免谈论到可能会让你“撞墙”(hit a wall)的话题。什么是“撞墙”(hit a wall)？就是你的瓶颈，当谈论到某个话题时，你不知道该如何用英语继续描述下去。另外，不要死记硬背自我介绍，面试官很容易发现你是在背稿子。提前准备一些你想讲的关键词即可。
A bad answer VS a good answer
关于寒暄，回答举例：
—你早餐吃的什么？
—我吃了粥。
为什么这样的答案不好？回到我们之前说的，这个面试是在考察什么，面试官关注的不是你的答案本身，Ta并不是真的想知道你吃了什么，而是要“秀”出你的英语。
那么，一个更好的回答是怎样的呢？
—你早餐吃的什么？
—我妈妈给我做的中式的粥，米加热水做的。她知道我喜欢喝甜粥所以加了一些糖。我还喝了咖啡，因为今天面试我要保持清醒的状态！
