ALLITERATION
Alliteration is the repetition of initial consonant sounds in neighboring words or stressed syllables to add emphasis, create mood, or reinforce meaning.
ALLUSION
Anallusion is a reference to something well known in history or literature that promotes connection and familiarity.
ANALOGY
An analogy is a comparison of two things that are somehow alike for the purpose of clarifying the lesser known of the two subjects.
METAPHOR
A metaphor is an implied comparison between two essentially unlike things. Used to highlight imagery or meaning.
PARALLELISM
Parallelism structure is the use of similar patterns in sentence structure often the repetition of words or phrases used for emphasis and comprehension.
SYNTAX
Syntax is the deliberate arrangement of words and phrases to form a sentence that reinforces mood.
SATIRE
Satire is the portrayal of people, polices and institutions, using ridicule, often with humor, to reveal political and social follies.
