Postdoctoral Positions for Studying Human Eye Degenerative Diseases
Multiple postdoctoral positions are available in the Prof. Ting Xie’s Lab at the Division of Life Science of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) to study as the causes of retinal degeneration diseases, particularly glaucoma, using mouse genetic models and human retinal organoids (for more information, please visit the website: https://life-sci.hkust.edu.hk/team/ting-xie/). Prof. Xie has recently relocated his lab from Stowers Institute for Medical Research to HKUST still with the same goal of training scientists for independent academic positions. He has many years of experience in training PhD students and postdocs for independent academic positions. Postdoctoral training in Hong Kong is considered as oversea research experience.

These new postdocs will work on the following two research projects:
1) Uncovering the causes of retinal degeneration in mice and humans
2) Developing gene/stem cell therapies for retinal degenerative diseases
Candidates with a PhD degree in different disciplinaries of life/biomedical science are welcome to apply. Strong research training in genetics and developmental biology will be a plus. The successful candidates should be self- motivated individuals with at least one high-quality first-author publication.
The Xie lab is situated in a newly renovated lab with the access to advanced technologies in BioCRF (https://www.biocrf.ust.hk).
