　　Wei Family Private Foundation 2019–2020 Scholarship Winners

　　On November 22, Janet Chen, Edward Chen and John Donnelly, representatives of the Wei Family Private Foundation, visited the Department of Electrical Engineering to present its 2019-2020 scholarship awards. The nonprofit foundation was established to honor the memory of Dr. Chung Kwai Lui Wei, the first woman to receive a PhD in physics from Oregon State University, and Mr. Hsin Hsu Wei, who received his MS in electrical engineering from Columbia. The foundation awards scholarship grants for up to three years to students of Chinese heritage with high academic credentials who are pursuing a degree in science or mathematics at Oregon State University or a graduate degree in electrical engineering at Columbia University. 

　　11月22日，魏氏家族私人基金会代表陈珍妮特、陈爱华和唐纳利访问电气工程系，颁发2019-2020年度奖学金。这个非营利性基金会是为了纪念俄勒冈州立大学第一位获得物理博士学位的Hsin Hsu Wei博士，他在哥伦比亚大学获得电子工程硕士学位。该基金会授予奖学金三年以上的奖学金，授予高学历的中国留学生，他们在俄勒冈州立大学攻读科学或数学学位或哥伦比亚大学电气工程研究生学位。

　　Receiving a scholarship for the second time was Jingkai Yan. Two other students, Min Yee Teh and Zhaowen Wang,received scholarships for their third and final year. 

　　第二次获得奖学金的是Jingkai Yan。另外两名学生，Min Yee Teh和 Zhaowen Wang，在他们的第三年和最后一年获得奖学金。

　　Yan is a second-year PhD student, working under the supervision of Professor John Wright. He received his BEng in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2018. His research interests include non-convex optimization, signal processing, and theoretical machine-learning algorithms. 

　　Yan是二年级博士生，在John Wright教授的指导下工作。2018年，他在中国北京清华大学获得电气工程学士学位。他的研究方向包括非凸优化、信号处理和理论机器学习算法。

　　Teh is a fourth-year PhD student, working under the supervision of Professor Keren Bergman in the Lightwave Research Laboratory. Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, he received his BS in electrical engineering from Brown University in 2016. His research focuses on the modeling and simulation of optical interconnects in high-performance computing systems. 

　　他是一名四年级博士生，在光波研究实验室Keren Bergman教授的指导下工作。他在马来西亚吉隆坡出生长大，2016年在布朗大学获得电气工程学士学位。他的研究重点是高性能计算系统中光互连的建模与仿真。

　　Wang is a third-year PhD student, working in Professor Peter Kinget’s group in the Columbia Integrated Systems Laboratory. He received his BEng in electronics and information engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2017. From 2016 to 2017, he was an undergraduate research assistant in Professor Asad Abidi’s lab at UCLA. His research focuses on complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) radio-frequency design and high-speed analog integrated circuits design. 

　　Wang是哥伦比亚综合系统实验室Peter Kinget教授团队的三年级博士生。2017年，他在中国杭州浙江大学获得电子与信息工程学士学位。2016年至2017年，他是加州大学洛杉矶分校Asad Abidi’s lab的本科生研究助理。他的研究重点是互补金属氧化物半导体（CMOS）射频设计和高速模拟集成电路的设计。

　　Two students who previously received scholarships for three years also attended the event. They were Tingjun Chen and Zhewei Jiang.
