　　Task 1 

　　Usually there will be a welcome session for freshmen who just start university study, introducing something on course schedule, dormitory management, cafeteria and so on. Can you talk about one advantage and one disadvantage of such a welcome session? 

　　Sample response: 

　　Talking about the welcome session, the obvious advantage is this can help students better adapt themselves to the life in university. Freshmen will be more familiar with things like how to register a course, when to have a meal in cafeteria, how to use the gym and library and so forth. It will be convenient for freshmen. 

　　While the disadvantage is that some students may not be attending such a session. Some students may prefer to consult their classmates, search information on the Internet by themselves or just follow other students when they start their studies. Coordinators may feel disappointed to some extent. 

　　Task 2 

　　Some people prefer to have a job that has a regular schedule, which means you may go to work at 9 in the morning and get off work at 17 in the afternoon. Some people prefer to have a job that has a flexible schedule, which means you may don't have to go to work at a certain time and you can arrange your own schedule. Which one do you prefer and why? 

　　Sample response: 

　　Personally speaking, I prefer to choose the latter one. 

　　Firstly, this choice may help me save time. I may arrange my schedule to avoid the traffic jam in rush hours. However, if choosing the first one, in my city when everyone goes to work and gets off work at a certain time, the traffic will be very congested, you may spend 2 more hours than the normal time in commuting. 

　　Secondly, this way may help me save money. For example, in my city, normally I may only spend around 10 dollars by taxi in commuting 15 kilometers. However, if choosing the first one and meeting the traffic jam, because of the waiting time, I may have to spend around 20 dollars by taxi in commuting the same distance.

　　Imagine you need to improve your performance in order to get better grades or higher work payment. Which way would you choose? 

　　-Doing more extra work or assignments that are required 

　　-Participate more actively or contributing your own idea more frequently in the group discussion 

　　题型：第二维度 比较对比 

　　立场：选择自己容易说的一方即可 

　　论证方法：双边论证，写让步段 

　　思路提示：这里以选择第2个观点，即在小组讨论中积极发言为例，给大家展示一下思路，顺便积累一下语料 

　　理由段：参加小组讨论可以和其他人交换意见（exchange ideas），也非常容易得到帮助(get help easily)，取长补短(compensate weakness )，因此取得更高的成绩或者更高的收入。另外，在小组讨论中会有同伴压力（peer pressure），能够更加自律（self-discipline），学习效率更高。 

　　让步段：做额外的工作或者作业确实有时候（注意让步段要对TS进行削弱）确实可以学习更多的知识，对考试成绩和工作有一些帮助。但是，做额外的工作和作业还意味着更加劳累（fatigue），休息不好，反而会降低学习和工作效果（efficacy）。
