我们构建一种工程益生菌，能够帮助尿毒症患者清除对甲酚带来的毒性，同时我们为工程益生菌添加了开关，能够通过食用一种氨基酸，酪氨酸，来控制工程益生菌是否开始清除毒性。

We constructed an engineered probiotic E.coli Nissle 1917 that can degrade p-cresol to clean up the toxic for uremic patients. Meanwhile, we created a switch to control the starting time when the engineered probiotic cleans the toxins.

环境激素检测。同学们设计了一个生物传感器来快速检测环境中的雌激素，从而避免过量的雌激素进入人体，危害人类健康。

A biosensor was designed to quickly detect the estrogen in the environment and hence to protect us from potential health risk caused by excessive absorption of estrogen.

水体中磷元素检测。同学们利用生物合成的方法，我们构建了一个绿色荧光生物传感器，用来快速检测水体中的磷元素含量，监测水体质量。

A biological control mechanism was developed by virtue of genetic engineering to transform the phosphate in land to support crops’ growth.

半乳糖不耐受症。同学们通过合成生物学的手段改造益生菌，让半乳糖不耐受患者口服工程益生菌就能降解半乳糖，从此能够正常喝牛奶。
