就美国第一个开设IMC的西北大学来说,他们每年都会录取一些本科应届毕业生,没有任何全职工作经验,但大多有着不错的实习经历。大都来自于国内的名校,有清华北大复旦等名校,还有部分其他学校,当中很多同学是应届毕业,但有过在国际组织或外企或NGO实习过的经历。当然申请人的GPA和T/G成绩在申请中也占据一定的分量。

1. Loyola University Chicago(IMC)
Loyola University在芝加哥的市中心,是教会类学校,学校有钱但很少给学生提供奖学金,且学费也不低。不过这个学校被列为了2012U.S News Marketing中排名第20的美国学校,所以绝对是潜力股。学校很漂亮,课程设置也很不错,也涵盖到了关于marketing accounting和Finance的内容,看得出来是秉承了整合这个概念,而将更加综合的适用于Marketing的东西和课程进行了设置。学校强调实践性和领导力,所以绝对是有竞争力的。喜欢大城市的同学们可以考虑。
2 . 伊利诺伊理工大学-IIT(Marketing Communication)
伊利诺伊理工的一大优势也是在于它位处芝加哥,能够有很多的资源。其次关于课程设置方面,可以参考如下的介绍:IIT Stuart’s Master of Science in Marketing Communication Program is designed for students who have an entrepreneurial mindset. The program is geared toward students who wish to combine innovative and incisive thinking, creativity, and leadership skills to help redefine how companies communicate with their stakeholders in the rapidly changing field of marketing communication.看着还是很有竞争力的。IIT的学校申请难度不大,且经常会有奖学金。很多同学会作为保底的学校申请,即有专业优势,又能领略美国名城Chicago的大都市风情。
3. Clark University (Master of professional Communication)
学校位于麻省伍斯特市,也算是美国东北部大学集中区域,距离纽约、波士顿也不算太远,开车5个小时左右。学校的这个项目开设在College of Professional and Continuing Education。学院中,学校d的教学模式是“One Degree, Four Concentrations”,即一个学位有4个方向,分别是Human Resource Management /Marketing Communication/Communication Management和New Media Technologies,可以看出项目更偏Communication方向,比较重视媒体和Public Relation等方面。学校一般会有面试,且面试的时候比较注重你对于自己的career plan和这个学校的了解来着手,同时问问你觉得这个学校可以给你带来什么,即标准的what can you do for us之类的问答。
4. Emerson College(IMC)
Emerson College是美国传媒教育的名校,选择该学校的中国学生既有对该学校精深的传媒教育的膜拜,又担心这个学校的名气在国内不大,担心在将来回国就业上没有优势。其实我个人是非常推崇这家学校的,至于今后的就业永远是与个人能力和机遇有关的。只要自己专业实力强劲,总会有机会的。学校面积不大,位于波士顿市区中心,学生完成学位后,因为地处波士顿的市中心,获得实习机会的几率还是很大的,基本上都可以找到。
学校的传媒专业分类很多,有Communication Management / Global Marketing Communication & Advertising (MA) /Integrated Marketing Communication (MA)Journalism (MA)
这几个方向。但就IMC专业来看,学校对IMC专业是做如下定位的:Organizations use Integrated Marketing Communication plans to present a unified message to the target audience. Advertising, public relations, promotion, direct marketing, and other low- and high-technology tools are integrated to effectively listen to and communicate with the target audience.
