Given the current circumstances in Wuhan and the temporary closure of English language proficiency (ELP) testing centres, McMaster University is offering special considerations for applicants in mainland China.

Updates on ELP requirements

You may have already submitted an ELP test result, or may still be waiting to take the test and are delayed due to the current situation in China. In either case, we are willing to consider applicants who are academically eligible for admission. For these students, admission will be conditional on submitting a passing ELP test result by July 1, 2020.

We are committed to being as flexible as possible to accommodate applicants who find themselves impacted by the current situation.

How to submit English proficiency test scores

As soon as you are able to provide us with the appropriate documents, you can have your IELTS or TOEFL test centre send your score report directly to Admissions at McMaster University. Alternatively, you can scan your Test Report Form (TRF) or score report and email it to macdocs@mcmaster.ca. Include your 9-digit McMaster Student ID in the subject line of the email.
