雅思大作文 vs Essay 他们的差别你真的知道吗？
文章体裁
雅思：要求学生根据给出的题目或者指引来进行写作，类别相信大家都很熟悉，advantage & disadvantage, discussion, agree or disagree, cause & effect, problem & solution 和 compare & contrast，虽然分类多但体裁跟essay相似。
学术写作：写作类型很丰富，最常见就是essays, 其他类型包括literature reviews, experimental reports, case studies, research reports, research proposals, summaries, exercise, 和short answer。
论据来源
雅思：所有雅思写作都基于“已存在知识”或者常识，这意味着所有都要求学生根据自己的想法，观点和大众常识进行写作。
学术写作：根据学科的不同，大部分的学术写作的数据来源都是secondary sources，就是通过查阅书籍，论文以及各类其他可信赖资料来源获得证据或者是数据，而且一定要注意做好文献引用，否则会被认为是学术剽窃
题目重点
雅思：几乎所有题目都比较恢宏，在大家心中已经有一个相对固定的答案，social responsibilities, the government, wealthy nations, scientists, parents是雅思大作文题目的常客，学生基本都是以第一人称在进行写作
学术写作：大部分要求学生需要寻找依据客观辩证，也有一部分是非既定事实论证～为了增加文章的客观性，学术写作一般都是使用第三人称。
看到这里，大家是不是有点了解为啥雅思写作能拿7分的人并不一定能把大学作业或者论文写好的原因呢？
另外再给大家分析一下雅思写作和学术写作在遣词用句上有什么差异～
正如上面说的，在学术写作里，使用人称代词（us, I）是非正式用法，只能在特定情况下使用，我们可以通过使用被动语态来避免习惯性地使用第一人称。学术写作对单词选择和措辞要求也比较高，雅思写作9分可以等同于大学写作水平。举个例子，我们会经常在科学类的学术论文里面看到major factor这个名词，相比起great和good，overwhelming是一个更加适合与之搭配的形容词。‘It is often said…’是我们经常在雅思写作中用到的开场白，在学术写作中，更多用到的是In the most recent decades…’ and ‘This essay will examine…’.

It is undeniable that the Internet has led to a dramatic expansion in the number of choices that are available to us. The number of online media options, for instance, is now almost endless. There are countless websites offering entertainment, news, videos, on-demand TV and music streaming, many of which are free. I would argue that this abundance of media leads to confusion on the part of the average user, as we have to make so many decisions about the content that we consume. A personal example of this trend would be the fact that I had a choice of just four TV channels when I was a child, whereas I now have access to thousands of films and series through services like Netflix.
University level

Hollingworth (2002) provides statistics which show that Netflix users now spends fifteen minutes on average choosing what to watch. This is in contrast to the situation in the UK thirty years ago, when there were just four TV channels.
