I am writing to provide you with an update regarding the University of Stirling’s pre-sessional English courses for 2017.
The University of Stirling summer pre-sessional courses are designed specifically for students who are holding an academic offer from the University for postgraduate or undergraduate degree study, and who wish to undertake a 12-week (commencing June), 6-week (commencing July), or 3-week language course (commencing August) prior to the start of the academic year. Full information on these courses, including dates and fees for 2017, can be found at http://www.stir.ac.uk/courses/english/.
The University of Stirling is pleased to launch a new online application for students wishing to take one of these summer pre-sessional English courses before the start of their academic studies at the University of Stirling. This application is now live and can be used with immediate effect.
Applications or enquiries for all other English language, academic and integrated programmes delivered by INTO University of Stirling should continue to be directed to INTO’s Admissions Centre in Brighton.
The University’s pre-sessional online application can be accessed in three ways:
• Via the University of Stirling website: http://stir.ac.uk/1c5
• Via the INTO University of Stirling website: http://stir.ac.uk/1c6
• Via the University portal, which students can access after submitting their academic application: https://portal.stir.ac.uk/.
Please note, in order to activate their My Portal account students will need to enter their seven digit Stirling student number and date of birth at https://portal.stir.ac.uk/discovery.
The new pre-sessional application is administered by the University’s centralised Admissions Office and offers a number of benefits for you and your students:
• You will have one point of contact for both admission to your University of Stirling undergraduate or postgraduate course and for the pre-sessional course as described above.
• The pre-sessional application form is linked to the student’s academic application and most of the information is pre-populated: this saves you time in completing the form and reduces the need to
