Sports scholarships available
Sport and Health Sciences ranks as one of the top departments at which to study
sport and exercises sciences in the UK. It is ranked 2nd for Sports Science in The
Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017, 5th for Sports Science in
The Guardian University Guide 2017, and 3rd in the UK for research according to
the Times Higher Education 2014 Research Excellence Framework. Additionally, the
University of Exeter as a whole is one of the UK’s top sporting universities, named
The Times and The Sunday Times Sports University of the Year for 2015/16.
Sport and Health Sciences students are based primarily at our historic St Luke’s
Campus, which is outfitted with dedicated state-of-the-art laboratories for sport and
exercise physiology, sports biomechanics, and health and performance psychology.
The department offers an excellent student experience, with module content inspired
by cutting-edge staff research, a wealth of opportunities for academic collaborations
with industry and professional athletes, and low student-to-staff ratios that facilitate
friendly, supportive relationships between students and lecturers. Our innovative and
rigorous programmes are designed to prepare our students for life after graduation;
99 per cent progress into employment or further study within six months of obtaining
their degree.
Several scholarships are available to help students interested in enrolling on both
undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Sport and Health Sciences:
Sports Scholarship and High Performance Programme: awarded to students of
outstanding sporting ability who show evidence of achievement at international level
in their chosen sport.
Women in Sport Scholarship: available to exceptional female applicants to Sport and
Health Sciences degrees.
Global Excellence Scholarship: available to international students of outstanding
academic quality.
Politics and International Relations
at our Penryn Campus, Cornwall
Politics and International Relations at our Penryn Campus doesn’t look at the study
of the subject as an intellectual exercise, it’s the means by which people change
the world. We take our students out of the classroom to get a bigger perspective.
Exclusive to our Politics and IR programmes at Penryn is the US Field Trip to New
York, where students might observe a session of the UN, visit the World Trade
Center or the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, for example. Our students also have
opportunities to talk to local veterans about the legacies of war, and have provided
consultancy for a political organisation in Cornwall. Each time putting what they have
learned into practice, making them well-rounded and highly-employable graduates.
