Visits by guest speakers from all areas of financial services complement the academic programme throughout the year. Past speakers have covered topics including IFRS & Standard Setting, Systematic/Quant Trading Strategies, Quantitative Strategies for Hedge Funds, High Frequency Trading in the Foreign Exchange Markets, and Success in the City.
WBS CareersPlus service
We offer you a comprehensive pre-arrival, student, and alumni careers service. You will have access to one-to-one career guidance appointments, CV checks and tailored mock interviews.
Workshops & guidance
You will attend a half-day course-specific KickStart Your Career workshop covering CVs and application forms, looking for jobs, networking, interviews and assessment centres.
Additional workshops, covering subjects including presentation skills, CVs and cover letters and assessment centres, are also provided throughout the year.
University careers service
You can access the careers services provided by the University's Student Careers and Skills team. The university's graduate job site, MyAdvantage lists thousands of graduate job placements and internship opportunities throughout the year, as well as a range of other useful online resources.
