We hope that you are looking forward to starting your 10 week Pre-sessional course at the University Language Centre. We are writing to you with information on what happens on the first day of the course.
Monday 27th June – First Day
On your first day, you will have the following sessions:
Pre-sessional Registration Session – 09:00am - 10:00am
Please come to Crawford House, Lecture Theatre 1 (no. 31 on campus map) on Monday 27th June between 09:00am - 10:00am.
You can find the location of the building on the Campus Map here
Please note that there are hundreds of students registering for the PS10b course on this day. Other new students or friends of yours might have to go to another venue or time slot. Please do not follow them – you must go to Crawford House, Lecture Theatre 1 at the time stated above.
In this session, you will:
- Register on the course
- Collect your student timetable which will give you details of your classes and events for the first day and the first week
- Collect your student card, or make an appointment to collect your student card
- Collect a ticket for a Banks on Campus event to allow you to open a UK bank account on campus
Welfare Induction – 1:00pm
Please come to Simon Building, Lecture Theatre A (no. 31 on campus map) on Monday 27th June at 1:00pm.

In this session, you will:
- Meet the University Language Centre Welfare Team
- Receive important information about being a student on the Pre-sessional Course
- Receive information from the local police on staying safe in Manchester
- Receive information on the Social Programme available to you during your studies.
What documents should I bring on the first day?
Please bring the following documents with you to registration:
· Your original passport and visa.
· Your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) collection letter (Students with a Joint CAS and visa covering the Pre-sessional course and the main course only)
· A note of your full UK address including the postcode.
· If you are a sponsored student and you have not yet emailed us your financial guarantee, please bring it with you.
· Your University of Manchester ID number
What should I do before I arrive?
Please complete IT and student registration as soon as possible. If you have not completed online registration – you will not be able to collect your student card or open a UK bank account.

Please make a note of your username and password at the end of IT registration. You will need this to complete Stage 2 student registration.
2. Confirm your attendance by clicking here
Enter the new username and password from your IT registration. Once you have clicked to confirm your attendance, you will be able to complete registration within 24 hours.
