Designed for a new generation of heritage leaders, this Master's provides the interdisciplinary skills needed to deliver the heritage programmes and projects of the future. You will learn the latest in heritage management policies, projects, methodologies and practices in the context of historic buildings, sites, landscapes, museums and collections.
About this degree
Students are encouraged to take a long view of conservation and heritage management and are challenged to define problems, set objectives and explore a range of sustainability issues and strategies. Concepts of value, sustainability, life expectancy, stewardship, ownership, vulnerability and risk are interwoven with the scientific study of historic materials, assemblies, technologies and systems.
Students undertake modules to the value of 180 credits.
The programme consists of three compulsory modules (60 credits), three optional modules (60 credits), and a dissertation (60 credits).
A Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits, full-time nine months) is offered.
Upon successful completion of 180 credits, you will be awarded a MSc in Built Environment: Sustainable Heritage. Upon successful completion of 120 credits, you will be awarded a PG Dip in Built Environment: Sustainable Heritage.
