伦敦大学亚非学院课程变动
It can also be used as a pre-sessional course, if a student's English evidence falls slightly short of the minimum requirement level of ICC Foundation or FDPS Pre-master's.
The Summer Pathway Preparation Course runs for 6 weeks (3rd August - 11th September) and involves daily live classes with an academic English expert, one-to-one support, as well as homework which students can complete in their own time. There is the opportunity for seminar discussion as well as practice as delivering academic presentations.
Students will learn how to: ● develop their written accuracy ● increase their vocabulary in an academic context ● improve reading speed and skills ● learn how to deal with academic texts ● produce an extended piece of academic essay writing ● strengthen lecture-listening and note-taking skills ● improve seminar speaking and presentation skills ●become more independent and collaborative students ● develop online literacy skills needed for all forms of academic study and beyond
For students who are keen to make as much academic progress as possible during their foundation or pre-master's year, maximising the development of their English proficiency over the summer can be very beneficial.
The minimum English requirement is IELTS 5.5 with at least 5.0 in each skill subscore or Pearson PTE UKVI 55 overall with at least 50 in each communicative skills score.
For prospective FDPS students who don't require a UKVI-approved SELT for their visa application, we also accept Duolingo at 90 overall with satisfactory writing and speaking sample, and TOEFL At-Home 76 overall with at least 12 in each subscore.
Prospective FDPS Pre-master's students taking the course as a pre-sessional requirement will be tested internally to ensure that they meet the English level required for their visa application, if they have not met it already.
