Inclusive Growth*
Focuses on both the theoretical underpinnings and practical implementation of specific local economic development policies.
Globalisation and Regional Development*
The economic geography of globalisation, and examination of some of the principal effects of globalization on economic development of cities, regions and nations.
Economics of Local and Regional Development*(Suspended 2020/21)
Provides students with an in-depth understanding of the macro and meso-level determinants of regional and local economic development and of the policies influencing these drivers.
Regional Development and Policy*
Deals with the management and institutions of local and regional economic development.
Local Capacity and Economic Development Policy*
This course is aimed at understanding the micro foundations of local economic development, that is the determinants and effects of the behaviour, strategies and choices of key economic actors: local firms, both small and large, multinational enterprises, universities and other education and research organisations, government bodies, NGOs, local communities, etc.
