英国留学:谢菲尔德大学信息更新
We are delighted that you have accepted your place to study MA, University of Sheffield. There's just over three months until you join us for Intro Week in September! Here are a few ways you can learn more about us:
Skype with Dr Andrey Roswosky, Director of the Full-Time MA Programme
On Tuesday, 27 June Dr Andrey Rosowsky will be available on Skype to answer questions from offer holders on any of our full-time MA courses. You will be able to ask questions about anything you need to know about your course, your offer or anything else about studying with us.
If you would like to request a Skype call with Dr Rosowsky please complete a booking form. We will contact you when we have received your form to confirm a specific time slot and provide further information regarding your Skype meeting.
Living in Sheffield
The University offer a great suite of webpages to give you an idea of what it's like to live and study in the city of Sheffield. We are proud of our links to this historic, multicultural city and we hope you find it to be an exciting and vibrant place to be.
If you're an international student coming into the UK from overseas to study with us, there are also webpages specifically for you, including information on your arrival in Sheffield.
Accept your Offer
If you haven’t already accepted your offer, please do so – even if you haven’t yet met the criteria. It simply shows us that you’re still interested in joining our programme and we can prepare to make your time at Sheffield unforgettable.
If you have accepted the offer but it is conditional upon language requirements, please have a look at the ELTC website. At the ELTC you will be trained in academic writing and thereby learn how to write essays and critical reviews. You will learn how to give individual presentations and how to effectively participate in seminar discussions. You will also be trained in note-taking (very helpful for lectures), research skills and time management. Instead of retaking IELTS, you will be assessed on your academic skills. Last summer students had a fantastic time and said that the training really prepared them for studying with us! You can choose a 10-week, 6-week or 4-week course depending on the training you need. Just have a look at the website to find out which course would be the best for you.
Please contact us if you have any further questions. We are happy to help with anything we can. And importantly, please upload any IELTS results to your application even if you’re not quite there yet – the more we know, the more we can help!
