什么是荣誉学士学位？
荣誉学位（Honours
Degrees）是欧美国家设置的学位，学时一年，这个词是由外国的词汇直译过来的。在中国，荣誉学士和学士被统一评价为学士学位。澳大利亚因沿袭英式教育，因此在本科阶段会出现荣誉学士这一词。总的来说。澳洲的荣誉学士的含金量还是比较高的，学生在获得荣誉学士后可以选择直接跳级读博士学位，或是申请读硕士课程（2年）减免约1年的时间。
与普通学士学位相比，两者的不同？
普通的学士学位(Bachelor
degrees)课程通常是经过整体的规划及设计，帮助学生发展其对主修科目的解析能力，并能针对其所学相关知识做衍生应用。通常学生必须选择主修科目做深入的研读。课程内容是以渐进方式进行，由浅入深的探讨各学习主题，并为今后进行研究课程学习立下根基。
通常申请澳洲大学入学，申请人具备有高中毕业的程度。
荣誉学士学位(Honours
Degree)课程除了教授研究原理和方法外，也包含在一个或多个专业层面的知识和技能的贯彻性和进一步发展，学生需要提交一个具意义的研究论文或研究专案。
荣誉学士学位是以学生学士课程的成绩表现作为甄选的标准，有时也会要求递交详细的研究大纲作为参考，越优秀的大学甄选越为严格，但即使在澳洲一般的大学，其荣誉学士的录取标准也高于澳洲一线大学的研究生。
荣誉学士竞争尤为激烈，一般仅对本校的本科生开放，对于澳洲外校的本科生名额十分有限，甄选也更为苛刻，一年的在读生总数控制在个位数。
只有成绩优异的毕业生(排名前2%-3%)才有机会入选此荣誉学位，未入选者则被授予普通学士学位。若该学生在此课程结束之前达到相关要求，还可被授予荣誉学位。
荣誉学士学位以分等或分级的形式表示，例如：First Classor Second Class (Upper Division)
一等或二等(高级)。获得一等或二等(高级)荣誉学士学位的优秀毕业生可以直接进入博士学位的课程学习。
需要注意的是，国内本科毕业是不能申请荣誉学士的。在澳洲，攻读荣誉学士学位，学校对于学生的要求会有所不同，例如本科第三年的成绩需要在平均75分以上，并且本科三年不能有挂科记录。
所以，如果有计划申请荣誉学位的学生应提前做好准备。荣誉学士和普通学士虽然只有两个字的差别，却是学校对于学生综合素质的不同等级评价。
