    UC系统6大常识

    常识一:UC系统9大院校:加州伯克利,加州洛杉矶,加州圣地亚哥,加州圣巴巴拉,加州欧文,加州戴维斯,加州圣克鲁兹,加州河滨,加州莫塞德

    常识二:UC没有春季申请,没有EA和ED,只有11.30一次截止,9大分校一律如此,使用同一个UC application。

    常识三:UC申请的时候,不需要推荐信,也不需要邮寄成绩单。如果“一定”要邮寄,UC会告诉你:很开心你自己愿意拖慢审核进度。

    常识四:UC对所有学生抱有诚信态度,所以UC成绩一律为self-report, 如果你申请的成绩和成绩单不一致,你懂的会发生什么。

     

     

    常识五:UC文书题目“Personal Insight Questions ”是8选4进行写作,每篇350词。

     

     

    文书题目称为“Personal Insight Questions ”,即更加注重申请者个人特征。加州大学招生办的OA表示,这更能让学生充分展现自己,让学校全面地了解学生。

     

    8个题目如下:

     

    1、Describe an example of your leadership experiencein which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes, orcontributed to group efforts over time.

     

    描述一次能展现你的领导力的经历,可以是你如何积极影响他人,或者帮助解决争论,或者是对团队的贡献。

     

    2、Every person has a creativeside, and it can be expressed in many ways: problem solving,original and innovative thinking, and artistically, to name a few. Describe howyou express your creative side.

     

    个人都有创造性的一面,其表现形式也都不尽相同,比如解决问题、原创思维或者独特艺术手法等。描述一下你是怎样变现自己的创造力的。

     

    3、What would you say is your greatest talent or skill? Howhave you developed and demonstrated that talent over time?

     

    你最擅长的天赋或者技能是什么?你是如何培养并表现你的才华的?

     

    4、Describe how you have takenadvantage of a significant educationalopportunity or worked to overcome an educational barrier youhave faced.

     

    描述一下你曾如何利用一次意义重大的教育机会,或者如何通过努力学习来克服你所面对的教育障碍的。

     

    5、Describe the most significant challenge youhave faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How hasthis challenge affected your academic achievement?

     

    描述一下你曾面临的最重要的挑战及你是采取什么方法克服这个挑战的?这个挑战是如何影响你现在的学业成就的?

     

    6、Describe your favorite academic subject andexplain how it has influenced you.

    7、What have you done to make your school or your community abetter place?

    8、What is the one thing that youthink sets you apart fromother candidates applying to the University of California?

    常识六:按照往年惯例,UC可以接受的语言成绩一律截止到12.31之前,如果再考,一般不会再接受了。AP、SAT2等成绩量力而行。

    14个综合考量指标

    1. Academic grade point average in all completed "a-g" courses, including additional points for completed UC-certified honors courses.

    完整”a-g”全部课程的平均成绩,包括完成UC承认的荣誉课程的附加分数。


    2. Scoreson the following tests: ACT Plus Writing or the SAT Reasoning Test.

    以下考试分数:ACT加写作成绩或者SAT考试成绩。


    3. Numberof, content of and performance in academic courses beyond the minimum "a-g" requirements.

    完成的课程数量还有质量需高于“a-g”课程的最低要求。


    4. Number of and performance in UC-approved honors, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate Higher Level and transferable college courses.

    5. Identification by UC as being ranked in the top 9 percent of your high school class at the end of your junior year (Eligible in the Local Context, or ELC).

    6. Quality of your senior-year program as measured by the type and number of academic courses in progress or planned.

    11. Special talents, achievements and awards in a particular field, such as visual and performing arts, communication or athletic endeavors; special skills, such as demonstrated written and oral proficiency in other languages; special interests, such as intensive study and exploration of other cultures;experiences that demonstrate unusual promise for leadership, such assignificant community service or significant participation in student government; or other significant experiences or achievements that demonstrate the student's promise for contributing to the intellectual vitality of acampus.

    特殊才能,在某一个特定领域的成就还有奖励,比如视觉与表演艺术,文化交流或者体育竞技;特殊技能,比如外语的写作能力和口语表达水平;特殊兴趣,比如对其它文化的深入研究以及探索;体现超群领导能力的经验,例如有意义的社区服务或者参与有效的学生自治;亦或是其它能够展示学生促进校园活力重要的经历或者成就。

      

    12.Completion of special projects undertaken in the context of your high school curriculum or in conjunction with special school events, projects or programs.

    在学生高中课程或者学校特殊活动、项目、方案的背景下,完成一些特殊的项目。

      

    13.Academic accomplishments in light of your life experiences and special circumstances, including but not limited to: disabilities, low family income,first generation to attend college, need to work, disadvantaged social or educational environment, difficult personal and family situations or circumstances, refugee status or veteran status.

    在特殊生活水平还有一些状况下完成学业,包括但不限于:残疾、低收入家庭、第一代读大学、需要工作、弱势社会群体或者不利的教育环境、艰难的个人和家庭情况、难民或者退伍军人。

      

    14.Location of your secondary school and residence.
