Doctor of Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) ， Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Ph.D.) The Doctor of Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) prepares experienced educators for system-level leadership roles in school districts, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and beyond; and the Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Ph.D.) empowers cutting-edge interdisciplinary research informed by the cognitive sciences, economics, medicine, the humanities, and more.

A complete application to the Ed.M. Program typically consists of the following:

• Online Application Form
• Statement of Purpose and Resume:
• Three letters of recommendation (submitted through the online application system)
• Standardized test score(s):

GRE

TOEFL or IELTS (if applicable)​​

• Transcript(s) from each postsecondary institution attended (uploaded with the online application)
• $85 application fee (paid via credit card with the online application)

As a reminder, competitive candidates need not have prior direct experience in an education setting though should have a clear conception of why they're pursuing a master's degree in education.  In addition, "education” and “education-related" are broadly defined at HGSE and encompass all fields covered by the Ed.M. programs we offer.
