在模板横行的时代，大部分同学提笔写TOEFL作文就是Recently, there is a general trend or debate that XXXXXX. 这种开头，对于刚刚起步的托福小萌新来说，比较好用，因为可以不用费脑子，把更多的时间专注在自己的主题段落的创作中。但是，对于想要获得高分的同学来说，这种开头就显得比较无聊了。在这篇文章里，我给大家总结四种开头的方法，大家顺着这三个思路想，一般都能写出一个不错的开头。
01 原因法
开头就是为了自然引出我们讨论的话题，既然要讨论这个事情，总得事出有因：我们为什么闲的无聊要讨论这个事儿呢？原因法的核心，就是在题目中找到一个核心关键词，并对这个关键词发问：why do we pay attention to it? 我们把这个答案写出来，就自然而然的成为了一个开头。比如，
Which of the following would you prefer to regulate to improve your health? 1) The kind of food you eat. 2) The amount you exercise. 3) The amount of stress in your life.
这是一道常见的三选一的题目。题目的核心在于你更希望管理一下哪个方面，来提升你的健康？
我们可以先把这三种方法放在一边，首先想一想我们为什么要improve one‘s health？尤其是在今天的这个背景下，不难想出保持健康有很多好处。可以更有活力的投入工作，也能让家人安心。那么为什么我们尤其要在今天讨论健康问题呢？因为现在人们的生活节奏太快，压力大，饮食也不健康，很容易出现健康问题。我们把这些原因整合之后，就变成了一个不错地开头。

Today’s fast-paced society has made it more difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle because people are surrounded by temptations such as high-calorie food and are under an unprecedented level of work pressure. However, improving one’s health is more important than anything else: Without physical and mental health, we are not able to work energetically, and our most cherished companions will constantly worry about us. 在这个开头后，引出你的观点，认为哪一种方法更能让你健康即可。
总之，这种方法的核心是找到题目中的关键词，然后往前想一步，想一想原因，说一说这个话题讨论的重要性。
02 回忆故事法
看到一个题目，总归有触景生情的冲动。它会让你想起过去什么美好的或者糟糕的回忆，我们可以把这个故事写下来，然后引出想要讨论的话题。
Some people prefer to travel to tourist spots that have many people, while others prefer less crowded places. Which do you prefer and why? (2019.6.1)
这是一道和生活联系非常紧密的话题，也正因为紧密，我们铺开写故事也更有素材和细节。去人多还是人少的地方？先谈谈“我上次去北京旅游”的体会吧。

This prompt reminds me of my last trip to Beijing, a city that is famous for its historical sites and population density: wherever I went and whenever I was outside, I could only see a sea of heads and paid little attention to the beautiful scenery. Also, the sultry days in August only added to my abysmal memories about the city. Therefore, I strongly recommend people to spend their vacations wisely in cities less crowded with people.
03 Counterargument法
如果你不准备在主体段落展开写让步，那么我们可以把让步的部分写到开头段。先聊聊反方的童鞋们都是怎么想的，然后引出我们的观点，尽管有这么多缺陷，但是我还是觉得我们应该跟他们对着干！
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Nowadays it is important for families to regularly have meals together.
家人应不应该定期一起吃饭呢？反方可能有千万个理由，比如浪费时间。但是，就因为这些事情我们就不做了吗？
校园招聘
There are a thousand reasons to argue against a regular schedule of family meals. For example, parents are under great pressure these days to support their families, so their hectic business days don’t allow them to arrange leisurely meals with their kids. Another reason can be a time conflict: children often eat early because they have to finish school assignments and review what they have learned in the daytime. Despite the many difficulties, I still believe that having regular meals with family members benefits both parents and kids.
04 “fact”法
这种引入方法可以使用一些“权威”的数据或调查来体现出话题的问题的紧迫性、严重性、或者意义。其实和第一种方法有一些类似，只不过我们并不是纯粹的说理，而是摆出论据来证明意义。
大学生初入校园肯定是焦虑满满，所以我们不如摆出事实来体现出大学必须帮助大学生快速适应校园。
As a university freshman, what is the best way to adapt to campus life quickly? 1. Take part in orientation programs designed for new students. 2. Meet a senior student regularly. (2018.6.12)

A recent survey by top universities has demonstrated that 90% of their freshmen often encounter anxiety when beginning their academic life on an unfamiliar campus. Therefore, universities should be held accountable for helping students smoothly transition to new environments. Indeed, many approaches have been adopted, such as organizing an introductory session that can familiarize students with the school’s facilities and academic resources. I think that the most effective way is to schedule regular meetings where junior students can meet senior ones. Through such interactions, new students can gain an in-depth understanding of the university.
这些方法是否适用于GRE写作呢？我个人认为（1）（3）（4）都还是不错的，但是用（2）开头的GRE作文就稍显稚嫩。但文无定法，开头只是引子，重要性低于主题段落的展开，所以我们的目标是快速组织出开场即可。
