正确和英国招生官的argue姿势-新东方前途出国

申请英国大学遇到些小问题，招生办公室的电话又打不通该怎么办？那就写邮件吧，你需要把自己的院系，专业什么的给写清楚。然后阐述下自己想要了解的问题。PS：邮件尽量写得简短明了些，毕竟招生官都不太想花太多时间去看邮件。 

放一篇范文：  

Dear sir/ madam 

I am interested in applying to study XX inthe 2017 academic year. I saw in your prospectus that you require a maths GCSE grade A. However I currently hold a grade B. Is it likely that you will stillconsider my application with this or will I need to retake and obtain the higher grade? I am apprehensive of doing this (state the reasons you gave in your post)

申请英国大学的小伙伴们应该知道，有些排名靠前的大学比较傲娇，语言、学术背景什么的卡的比较严，稍有一丁点不达标，大学就会毫不留情地发conditional offer甚至是拒信。这时候拿到conditional offer或拒信的小伙伴可以发email和学校argue一下，有同学成功argue到了unconditional offer

I felt so happy when I got the offer ofcomputer science in Faculty of Engineering yesterday. My name is XX,and my application number is XX. It's a great honour for me to get achance to study in the XX. 

Few months ago, I promised you that Icould get 7 and took the exam in Jan. A few days before our Chinese New year.Everyone went back home to enjoy their family reunion time except me. Topursuit and realize my dream and honor my promise, I had to study in the coldand empty classroom day after day without anyone. So many tears and the snakes onmy jack that I choose never looking back, I had to put up with low temperatureand lonely atmosphere and I missed my parents, who had already preparedluxurious dinners in the warm house( but far away) waiting for me. However,thanks to God, I got 7 finally and I am very happy, because my hardworking havebeen rewarded. 

The last time I took IELTS, I scored 6.0in speaking thus I am I quite sure of my spoken English. The problem here is,before the pre-sessional English Courses, I have no chance to prove my spokenEnglish in another IELTS, rendering me in such paradox. 

It unfolds that my listening and readingskills are very stable, there is no need for me to take lessons concerning onthese. It is unfair to me as well as goes against the fact. All that I need toimprove is my oral English. 

Such is the tough situation I am in, Isincerely request your permission that my condition be taken into considerationand the restrictions of language proficiency be loosen a bit.

My name is XX and I'm an conditionaloffer holder of MPhil in Finance and Economics. I'm writing to petitionfor my admission. Recently the 3rd year final exam results came out and Igot 68% weighted average, which means that I have closely failed the condition(70%).
In the first two years my scores were 83% and 80%.  I did notperform my best during 3rd year because of an unexpected accident. XXX Iwas honestly depressed and distracted during my revision time, and thisadversely influenced my academic performance.  My comparatively poormarks during third year are not indicative of my academic potential. 
Since my original submission in February, I have successfully passed theexam of level 1 Chartered Financial Analyst exam, and I have been preparing theexam of Level 2 CFA, and learning C language for my further study in financialengineering. I believe my application has strengthened significantly, andmy passion for the subject will make a contribution to the University of Cambridge's academic environment. 

Going to Cambridge for economics studyis the start of my pursuit in the field of finance, and is vital for thecontinuation to my doctoral studies.  This opportunity is deeplyimportant to me and I implore the department to reconsider my application.

reference letter推荐信的重要性不需要我来说了吧？英国大学研究生申请要求至少需要两封推荐信，且至少有一封是学术推荐信。给小伙伴们写推荐信的人（亲属不可以），一定是熟悉你的学习能力、课外活动、工作技能的人，比如你的professor，tutor，researcher等。求着别人帮忙，写邮件需要技巧。

My name is [Ben Frederick]. I took your [organic chemistry] course [last semester]. You may remember me [coming to your office hours after every test to go over some of my wrong answers.] [Organic chemistry] was a very challenging subject for me and I was proud of the [A-] I received in your class.
 
I know you are busy so I’ll get to the point. I am currently in the process of applying to [medical school] and I am trying to gather a few letters of recommendation.  Because I enjoyed [your class and teaching style so much], I decided to start by asking you. Would you be able to write me a strong letter of recommendation for my [medical school] application?
 
I would be more than happy to meet with you at your convenience if that would be helpful. Of course I would also provide my personal statement, CV, and any other material that you would like.
