1）罗切斯特国王中学 King's Rochester
King's Rochester is the oldest choir school and the second oldest school in the world. The School is nestled in the Cathedral precinct of historic Rochester and in the shadow of Rochester castle which boasts one of the finest Norman keeps in the country. King's is truly a School with a strong historical tradition and a clear vision of education for the 21st century.
Music has always been central to the existence of King’s: The school was founded in 604 AD to educate the choristers, which it still does to this day. All of the boy and several of the girl Cathedral Choristers (aged 8-13) attend King’s, and following a recent announcement by the Cathedral, the boy and girl choristers will be combined into one choir in the coming five years.
The inspiring teaching of our accomplished visiting music teachers has led many pupils to pursue a career in music. Recent alumni have been accepted to prestigious, specialist music institutions, such as the Royal College of Music (cello, 2018), Birmingham Conservatoire (piano, 2019) and four current pupils attend conservatoire junior departments in London on Saturdays. Pupils also participate in Kent County orchestras, the National Youth Orchestra and three pupils are currently in the National Youth Training Choir. In 2016, a King’s pupil won the BBC Young Chorister of the Year competition.

The partnership will extend beyond the development of a traditional performance arts curriculum, but will also encompass technology, media production, and creative entrepreneurship education. The goal of the partnership is to provide Inspired students with the creative skills and mindsets needed to succeed, lead, and innovate in a fast-paced 21st century economy.

3）梅纳德女校 The Maynard School
Music here at The Maynard permeates all aspects of school life and is, quite simply, exceptional. Our Senior Choir shot to fame in 2015 when we were the only school in the South West to perform at the Rugby World Cup opening ceremonies after a rigorous selection process involving over 100 schools. The choir travelled to Bath where they sang for the Australian Wallabies at the Assembly Rooms to rapturous applause and subsequently lapped up the media attention!
Aside from this celebrity status, here at School we aim to foster in all our girls an appreciation and enjoyment of music in its many forms. From jazz to classical, rock to opera we do it all and we boast numerous quartets, quintets, ensembles and choirs from the Junior School upwards.
Such is the popularity of our many musicians that we are regularly asked to perform at many venues – from the Cathedral to visiting royalty at Powderham Castle, at the opening of train stations to the flower tent at the Devon County Show, and many more besides!
Each year the school offers one Music Scholarship and two Music Exhibitions at 11+ and two Music Scholarships at 13+ (external applicants only) to students who display musical talent and show a lively interest in the subject. Scholars will be expected to play a leading part in the musical life of The Maynard throughout their time at the school.
In addition to the above awards there are also two Walter Daw Sixth Form Music Scholarships. Preference is given to those intending to take A-Level Music.
