环境工程-专业细分
根据专业定义,可以看到美国的环境工程专业主要研究的方向就是水,大气和土壤,其中又以前两者为主要细分方向,几乎所有开设环境工程硕士的学校都包含这两个方面,以加州大学伯克利分校为例,环境工程项目主要研究方向:
1.2.1 Air Quality Engineering (AQE) 大气质量工程
“AQE focuses on indoor microenvironments, plume dispersion, urban and regional air pollution, as well as global changes in climate and atmospheric chemistry. There is an emphasis on environmental and public health issues related to the built environment, including energy and transportation systems. ” 主要专注于室内微环境,羽流分散,城市和区域空气污染以及全球气候和大气化学变化。 重视与建筑环境有关的环境和公共卫生问题,包括能源和交通系统。
1.2.2 Water Quality Engineering (WQE) 水质量工程
“WQE addresses the sources, transport and treatment of chemical and microbiological contaminants that affect water. Research and coursework focus on assessment of the sources, fate and transport of contaminants and the development of natural and engineered treatment systems for chemical contaminants and human pathogens. ” 关注影响水质的化学和微生物污染物的来源,运输和处理。 研究和课程重点是评估污染物的来源,归宿和传播以及研发通过自然或者工程技术等手段处理化学污染物以及水媒疾病的方法。
1.2.3 Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Hydrology (EFMH) 环境流体力学和水文学
“EFMH focuses on physical processes that govern air and water movement, and the associated transport of contaminants, energy, and other scalars. It takes an integrated approach to studies of the coastal ocean and estuaries, the atmospheric boundary layer, surface and subsurface water flow, land-atmosphere interactions, the management of water resource systems, climate change and variability, and contaminant transport. ” 专注于控制空气和水运动的物理过程,以及污染物,能量和其他标量的相关传播。采用综合性方法,对沿海和河口,大气边界层,地表水和地下水流,土地-大气相互作用,水资源系统管理,气候变化和变率以及污染物传播进行研究。
