With over 70 full time faculty, the Electrical Engineering Department at USC allows students to pursue research in virtually all branches of electrical engineering. Ph.D candidates have the chance to work in the labs of leading researchers in fields including Communication Sciences, Computer Architecture, Computer Engineering, Controls, Electromagnetics, Integrated Circuits and VLSI Analog Design, MEMS, Multimedia, Nanotechnology, Networks, Photonics, Quantum Electronics and Optics, Plasmas, Quantum Information Processing, Signal Processing, VLSI Design, and Power Systems.
