All applicants are required to answer two essay questions before the application can be submitted. Each essay has a limit of 500 words.

Essay #1: Describe your motivation for pursuing a master’s degree.

· What have you done in your academic/professional/personal life that has prepared you for this degree?

o If your undergraduate major is different from the graduate degree you are seeking, please explain how you became interested in this field and why you would like to pursue it now in your educational career.

· How does this master’s degree fit in with your short and long term career goals?

· In what way will you contribute to the fabric of the Weatherhead culture?

· Feel free to share anything else that we should know about you or any concerns you might have about your application that might not otherwise have been addressed.

Essay #2: Choose one question from the following four options; please indicate which topic you are addressing in your response.

1. Case students are leaders and work together towards success. Tell us about a time when you helped someone else become a better leader.

2. Challenges are often faced every day. Though the end result is important, usually it is the journey that teaches us the most. Describe a situation where your academic or professional ethics were challenged. How did you deal with the situation? What did you learn from the experience?

3. Criticism can be difficult, but is a necessary part of growth. What was the most difficult feedback you have received, and how did you address it?

      4. At Weatherhead, we seek students with strong values. What values are most important to you? How do your values match the values of  Weatherhead?
